Terrestrial radio uses land-based stations and antennas to broadcast music and news programs to listeners. Digital audio broadcast transmits digital signals on specific channels so listeners know which radio station to tune into for different frequency programs. Broadcasts can be live without delays, as-live with small delays to allow censoring, or recorded programs from earlier including music, speech, commercials, dramas, and other formats. Non-broadcast products include podcasts which are downloadable audio files, internet radio which transmits over the internet, and in-store audio used for advertising inside retail stores.
