The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) classifies films, videos, DVDs and some video games in the UK based on their regularly updated guidelines. These guidelines are informed by extensive public consultation involving thousands of members of the public. For their most recent consultation, over 8,700 people provided input on issues related to classification. When classifying a film as a 15 certificate, the BBFC considers whether the film endorses discrimination, the level of threat/menace, dangerous behaviors, language use, nudity, and sexual references/acts.
