Psalms link the blessed life to those who walk in God’s ways after meditating on His word. Blessed is the person who delights in and meditates on the law or instruction of the Lord.
Based on "Respectable Sins" by Jerry Bridges, this lesson deals with the foundation sin of ungodliness in our lives and what it means. Ungodliness is living your life without any thought of God. Ungodliness is an easy sin to fall prey to, and one which every Christian is guilty of to some extent.
This is the first wisdom that we need to learn if we want to have a blessed (happy) life as a Christian.
This wisdom is an introduction to the entire book of Psalms.
And if we follow this course in our life through this year and beyond, it will lead us to happiness and reward.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
Bring Back that Loving Feeling part 4 (Disciples Delight in Study)
1. Psalm 1:1-2
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the
counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of
sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his
delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law
he meditates day and night.
www.networkchristian.org
2. Psalm 1:3-4
He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf
does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the
wind blows away.
www.networkchristian.org
3. Psalm 1:5-6
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the
judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the
righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of
the righteous, but the way of the wicked will
perish.
www.networkchristian.org
5. We must make a CHOICE to move
beyond knowing about God to
knowing Him.
The counsel of the wicked comes
down to who are you LISTENING to.
Standing in the way of sinners reflects the desire to FIT in
with the world rather than STAND out for God.
Sitting in the seat of mockers addresses the COMPANY
you hold.
What is the instruction of God except a REFLECTION of the
character of God?
6. To delight in is to HUNGER for.
Many choices are simply a matter of
what we want MORE.
To delight in is to MEDITATE on.
You continue to REFLECT on the Word after the cover is
closed.
To delight in is to be SHAPED by.
Study is not to support our belief system but to
DETERMINE it.
