Bridging Knowledge & Practice: Expert Session on Microbiology & its Role in Human life I had the wonderful opportunity to arrange an insightful expert session on “Microbiology & Its Role in Human Life” as part of the Inter Disciplinary Seminar Series (IDSS) for Physiotherapy & Nursing students at UTU. The session was delivered by Dr. Naga Ratna Supriya, Assistant Professor, C.G. Bhakta Institute of Biotechnology, UTU, who provided valuable insights into how microbiology shapes human health, industry, and the environment. Key Highlights of the Session: Human Health & Disease: Microbes play both beneficial and pathogenic roles in our bodies. Food Industry & Fermentation: Essential for yogurt, cheese, bread, and probiotics. Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals: Crucial in antibiotics, vaccines, and genetic engineering. Environmental Sustainability: Microbes aid in waste decomposition, bioremediation, and nutrient cycling. Agriculture & Soil Fertility: Nitrogen-fixing bacteria and mycorrhizal fungi enhance crop growth. Emerging Research & Innovations: Microbiology is driving advancements in synthetic biology, climate solutions, and personalized medicine. As we advance toward a future shaped by technology, microbiology will continue to unlock new possibilities in health care, environmental sustainability, and industrial applications. A heartfelt thanks to the UTU management and IDSS cell for their support in making this session a success. Looking forward to more such knowledge-sharing initiatives!
