As an experienced Electrical Manager with a strong Asset Management Consulting
background I am extremely interested in submitting an application for the advertised
Electrical Superintendent role. I learned of this position through a search on seek.com.
I am passionate about training, mentoring and coaching teams and delivering value by
driving continuous improvement activities in a cost effective, safe and efficient manner.
As a BHP Port Kembla Steelworks Electrical Trainee I started my career working in a hands
on role alongside Electrical tradesmen in a range of heavy industry plants. Following my
graduation I continued at BHP Port Kembla in various roles of Control Systems Technician,
Control Systems Foreman and Electrical Flying Gang Foreman.
I then moved to rural Wodonga as a Software Support Technician to support a
Manufacturing Plant move into PLC based controls. This was a new position for the
Company and I was instrumental in assisting the Electrical Maintenance Team embrace a
complete automation upgrade of new PLC’s, SCADA Systems and supporting IT
infrastructure.
Once the Electrical Maintenance Team reached control system maturity I moved into an
Electrical Managers and Packaging Mechanical Managers role responsible for managing an
annual budget of $2.01M and supervising 30 tradesmen
In my Electrical Managers role I actively managed the Electrical teams and created the new
position of Process Control Technician. This new position focused on Process Loop
Optimisation and one project alone delivered an extra $4.1M in sales per annum.
Additionally I have projected managed a wide range of new projects encompassing
Instrumentation, Electrical and Control Systems.
In 2008 I moved into my current role, as an Asset Management Consultant to expand and
broaden my knowledge and experiences. This role has allowed me to gain extensive
experience in optimising and developing comprehensive Maintenance Strategies, loading
Maintenance Strategies into SAP and Ellipse, Planning and Scheduling, Root Cause
Analysis (RCA), Defect Elimination, Spares Analysis, Mine OPEX Budget Development and
Mine OPEX Budget Reporting.
I have extensive experience working with teams, supervising and training technical
personnel and working with SAP and Ellipse. In recent assignments I worked closely training
and mentoring Planning personnel at Grasstree Mine (QLD), Grosvenor Mine (QLD), Vale
Open Cut Mine & Coal Handling Prep Plant (Mozambique) and QSL Sugar Terminals (QLD).
I am accustomed to working 12 hour shifts overseas in Ghana, Mozambique and
Switzerland. I have travelled to many different countries and enjoy working with people from
all different cultures.
