their chosen CMO to establish product move processes; 3PL & LSP collaboration to develop and deploy the
processes and the solution required to successfully transport the product for launch ie. MSA’s, SOW’s, Quality
Agreements; Development of Move Product SOP’s, launch checklists; Develop Quality Assurance SOP’s
required for launch to comply to FDA regulations. Clinical – Implement basic Supply Chain processes to plan

Internal and CMO S & OP processes; Monthly business planning cycles and escalation processes; Role and
responsibility definition, SC departmental activity analysis to identify non-value added activities that can be

Supported Covis in a Supply Chain operational and process development / deployment role. My activities /
accountabilities included; leading a major artwork trade dress transition project, regarding the change from
legacy artwork to the new corporate trade dress; implementing import processes for the flow of
pharmaceutical product cross U.S. borders (compliance, security of supply); Logistics Services Provider
deployment across their network of CMO’s and operational management; Supply Chain integration - support
for obtaining new business / products into the company; day to day CMO management, resolution of all cross-
border issues and incidents and day to day support for the Supply Chain Manager’s functional role on an
interim basis; collaborating with LSP’s to develop and implement cold chain solutions for temperature
sensitive products.

Director, Import/Export Shared Services, Americas (2008 to October 2011)
Oversaw inbound and outbound shipment operations to 10 manufacturing facilities and markets throughout
North and South America (valued at $4.5 billion in annual product revenue). Managed 18-member team and a
$1.1 million annual budget. Analyzed KPIs, including on-time delivery rate, shipment damage, and regulatory
compliance issues. Directed implementation of operational enhancements.
Negotiated annual service agreements with internal customers. Managed relationships with customers, sites,
and logistics service providers. Oversaw all cross-border activities, ensuring full regulatory compliance involving
17 government agencies. Directed and integrated import/export activities during mergers and acquisitions.
 Expanded scope/volume of services provided without increasing headcount through process enhancement
and outsourcing, including setup of the industry’s first import/export control tower.
 Integrated 3 large pharmaceutical companies and numerous product lines and manufacturing sites into
North American operations with minimal resources and no disruptions to supply.
 Avoided millions in penalties and fines (less than $100,000/year) and lost sales despite increasing regulatory
scrutiny by maintaining compliance of operation with $4.5 billion in imports and $1.5 billion in exports annually.
Director, Global Supply Chain Services (2007 to 2008)
Oversaw multidisciplinary team of 14 in managing the company’s Logistics Academy online training program,
executing Operational Excellence/Six Sigma process improvement initiatives, and providing business process
analysis and support services to internal departments/divisions worldwide. Managed a $750,000 annual budget.
 Spearheaded outsourcing of key supply chain processes to India-based vendor and managed relationship—
delivered $250,000 in initial labor cost savings and a $160,000 reduction in annual operating costs.
 Directed in-house/offshore team of 6 managers/analysts delivering tier 1, 2, and 3 internal helpdesk support.
 Led team of 5 in managing online logistics training program, partnering with internal customers to create
multimedia education and training materials that deployed/embedded processes in their businesses.

Pharmaceuticals: Supported the transition of a small pharmaceutical company from a development / clinical organization to a Commercial organization. Developed and deployed basic supply chain processes to operate the Commercial business. GLAXOSMITHKLINE – RTP, NC MAY 1985 to OCT 2011 Director, Import/Export Shared Services, Americas (2008 to October 2011) Oversaw inbound and outbound shipment operations to 10 manufacturing facilities and markets throughout North and South America (valued at $4.5 billion in annual product revenue). Managed 18-member team and a $1.1 million annual budget. Analyzed KPIs, including on-time delivery rate, shipment damage, and regulatory compliance issues. Directed implementation of operational enhancements. Negotiated annual service agreements with internal customers. Managed relationships with customers, sites, and logistics service providers. Oversaw all cross-border activities, ensuring full regulatory compliance involving 17 government agencies.
