Sleeping with bread

Story of a hope giving & life saving
            loaf of bread
• Have you ever been to bed with bread?
• It comes out of a story from World War II.
• Dennis and Sheila Linn tell that during the
bombing raids of that war, thousands of
children were orphaned and left to starve...
• Many were rescued and placed in special
camps. But they had great trouble sleeping
because they’d lost so much and feared
waking up to find themselves once again
  homeless.
• Someone thought of giving each child a piece
of bread to hold at bedtime,
• ...and they found the children could sleep
  peacefully.
• Through the dark hours the bread was a
reminder they had eaten and would eat again
  tomorrow…
• Bread has remained a staple food to mankind
long before civilization even began and was
found to provide long-lasting energy to help
sustain them throughout their daily activities…
• Bread is the only food common to every
human being. It is often used as an alternative
  to the word “food”
Bread and Us
Tayo (Nigeria)
• Bread is one food that has its place in almost
every home in Nigeria. It is so easy to snack on
and a quick fix to hunger but takes a long time
to prepare... The primary ingredient for
making bread in Nigeria is cassava.
As a matter of fact, I ate bread this morning?
• Pasrawin (Thailand)
Breads aren’t my staple. Rather have it as snacks or desserts
than a meal. Because of different tastes, different places,
here is example of our style bread menu in my country. Are
they different from yours?? This is the result of creative &
practical ideas. Creativity always make everything wonderful!
(and also delicious!!) Pork floss and
                                                    chilli paste bun

                       Pandan custard bun
• Marcia (Portugal)
• In my country bread is essential in all meals.
We eat it everytime and exist a lot of kinds pf
bread here in Portugal. Each region of this
small country has its own bread and each one
  is so tasty…hmmmm nhami 
• Do you want to try?
• Anna (Deutschland). Because bread is so
important in Germany it’s not very surprising
that a talking loaf of bread named 'Bernd' has
become a popular character among German
children. Germany is said to be the country
with the largest choice of types of bread.
