1. The document discusses Russian and Eurasian customs union regulations for product certification, including GOST, GOST R, TR, and the new EAC conformity mark.
2. It provides an overview of the technical regulations for low voltage equipment and electromagnetic compatibility that products must comply with to be imported into countries in the customs union.
3. The certification process involves testing products, obtaining certificates of conformity or declarations of conformity, and applying the EAC mark to indicate compliance with customs union standards.
There are 5 global transformations happening: automation and abundance, BRICs and globalization, climate change and energy, demography, and e-everything. Europe has 3 key resources to address these transformations: the power of the sun, the hearts and minds of Europeans, and the tools of the European Union. However, the key obstacle is that there is no single European political market, which creates asymmetry and moral hazard as national politicians are not incentivized or punished for decisions that help or hurt Europe as a whole. A European political market needs to be created to generate more political will for reforms.
The Union Customs Code (UCC) will be applied beginning May 2016 and replaces earlier customs regulations. It will impact UK businesses involved in international trade through changes such as mandatory financial guarantees for customs procedures, a focus on Authorised Economic Operator certification, modifications to customs authorizations, and replacing earlier sales provisions with a last sale rule for customs valuation. Affected companies should review how the UCC updates will influence them and their supply chains. Strategies like pursuing AEO status by 2015 could help minimize risks of noncompliance with the new regulations.
The document provides an overview of CE marking and EMC regulatory requirements in the EU. It discusses the key directives, conformity assessment procedures, and steps to affixing the CE marking. The CE marking symbolizes a product's compliance with EU directives and allows for free circulation of goods within the EU market. Manufacturers must verify product requirements, test for conformity, document technical files, and affix the marking before placing a product on the EU market. Notified bodies can assist with conformity assessment but are not always required.
'Brexit' –VAT & Customs implications for international supply chainsAlex Baulf
Now that the United Kingdom has voted to leave the European Union (EU), it is clear that the exit will require a fundamental review of how indirect tax (including VAT & customs duty) will operate going forward. We set out Grant Thornton's thinking about what the post-Brexit world might look like for global supply chains. Much will depend on whether we agree a 'Soft Brexit' (retaining some level of access to the Single Market) or a 'Hard Brexit' (No favoured access).
COMMON MARKET FOR EASTERN AND SOUTHERN AFRICA Experience of comesa in intra r...Parti Djibouti
The document outlines the history and development of regional economic integration efforts in Eastern and Southern Africa, culminating in the establishment of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) in 1993. It notes that COMESA was established to promote cooperation and integration across various economic sectors through reducing barriers to trade and investment. Over time, COMESA aims to establish a fully integrated regional economic community with free movement of goods, services, capital and labor by 2018, and a future political union.

International Marketing Research:Complete Aspect.Ashutosh Mishra
International marketing research involves systematically gathering, recording, and analyzing data about problems related to marketing goods and services across national borders. It is influenced by factors like market selection, market potential, and the degree of adaptation required. Market research is needed for market and investment planning, developing products for different markets, and choosing appropriate marketing mixes. Information can be collected through internal records, external research, interviews, observations, and questionnaires. Ensuring conceptual, functional, definitional, and linguistic equivalences is important for valid cross-cultural measurement in international marketing research.
1. As organizations pursue more global strategies, marketing research is needed to understand consumers in international markets. However, international marketing research presents unique challenges compared to domestic research.
2. This document discusses a framework for conducting effective international marketing research projects from a global project management perspective. It focuses on the nuances of questionnaire construction and primary data collection across borders.
3. Factors like political, legal, economic, social, and cultural differences between countries can impact the comparability of international marketing research results. Proper consideration of these challenges is needed for meaningful research projects.
Social and cultural Environment - International Business - Manu Melwin Joymanumelwin
The socio-cultural fabric is an important environmental factor that should be analysed while formulating business strategies. The cost of ignoring the customs, traditions, taboos, tastes and preferences, etc., of people could be very high.
The document outlines the key steps and considerations in defining a marketing research problem and developing an approach to address it. It discusses defining the management decision problem, conducting discussions with decision-makers and experts, analyzing secondary data and qualitative research. It emphasizes properly defining the specific marketing research problem and its components before developing the research approach, which includes establishing objectives, analytical models, research questions, hypotheses and specifying the necessary information.
International marketing research faces many challenges due to differences in cultures, languages, and business environments across countries. It involves systematically defining problems, collecting and analyzing both secondary and primary data, and interpreting the findings to make informed marketing decisions for international operations. Primary data collection has higher costs overseas and requires consideration of translation issues, instrument reliability, and reluctance of some respondents. Both qualitative and quantitative research approaches can be used, with their own constraints to address.

Gaurav Patel presented on the social and cultural environment and how it affects business. He defined the social environment as all social factors that impact business, noting that businesses operate within societies and are influenced by societal elements like family, education, and religion. The presentation also covered cultural environment and factors, explaining that socio-cultural environments consist of a population's beliefs, customs, and behaviors. Preferential trade agreements (PTAs) are trade pacts that reduce tariffs for member countries. PTAs are the first stage of economic integration, reducing trade barriers between participating nations. While they lower tariffs among members, external tariffs remain. PTAs can have benefits like trade creation, but also costs like trade diversion if members shift imports away from more efficient non-member producers. The proliferation of Asia-Pacific PTAs increases potential for both regional trade growth and trade diversion given some countries' high dispersed external tariffs.
The document discusses defining research problems and developing research proposals. It begins by explaining the importance of properly defining the research problem, which determines what will be done and how, and can achieve. The next sections cover selecting a research problem, understanding the background, isolating the true problem versus symptoms, determining the unit and relevant variables, and stating research questions and objectives. It also discusses developing a research proposal, which provides a framework for the research design, methodology, timeline, budget, and intended outcomes. The key steps in problem definition and developing an effective research proposal are to clearly identify the purpose of the study and methodology that will be followed.
The document provides an introduction to international marketing, including definitions of key terms, differences between international and domestic marketing, and challenges in international marketing. It discusses the international marketing concept, environmental forces companies must consider, and stages of international marketing involvement ranging from no direct foreign marketing to global marketing. Language barriers, standardization-customization issues, and ethnocentrism are highlighted as major obstacles international marketers face.

The main approaches are exporting, joint ventures, and foreign direct investment like assembly or manufacturing plants.
