Thomas & Betts high performance Ty-Rap cable ties with integral stainless steel locking heads for industrial, hazardous area, construction and high voltage cable installations.
Thomas & Betts premium performance Ty-Rap cable ties : UV resistant, flame retardant, heat resistant, weatherproof, low and high temperature flexibility, radiation resistant (IEEE383), chemical resistant, low smoke and fume (LSF), low smoke zero halogen (LSOH), non-outgassing and metal detectable.
Thomas & Betts Ty-Rap cable ties in a choice of materials : Polyamide 6.6, Polyamide 4.6, Polyamide 12, Polypropylene, ETFE Flouropolymer, ECTFE Flourpolymer, Acetal and Stainless Steel (304 and 316 grades).
Cold Shrink Tubing for LV Cable Splices, Repair, Protection & Insulation - 3M
Cold Shrink Splice Kit 3M 8427-12
Cold Shrink Tubes 3M
3M 8427-12 Cold Shrink Tubes 17.5mm-33.0mm Diameters - 305mm Length
3M Cold Shrink Splices & Splicing Kits are designed using the unique cold shrink delivery system developed by 3M - cold shrink tubes are supplied pre-stretched on a removable core for efficiency and ease of installation.
Cold shrink tubes provide a constant radial pressure and seal without adhesive allowing for cable or pipe expansion and contraction after installation - 3M Cold Shrink is simple and fast to install, no tools or "hot-working" required for use in potentially explosive and hazardous area atmospheres, including Zones 1 and Zones 2.
3M Cold Shrink Splice Tubes 8427-12 - Typical Applications
Insulation and sealing of inline cable splices and electrical connectors
Primary electrical insulation up to 1kV for cold shrink cable repairs
Conduit and cable breakout sealing - moisture barrier
Tubes available in EPDM rubber and silicone (Low Smoke & Fume LSF)
Cold Shrink Tubes 3M : EPDM rubber cold shrink tubes provide cable sealing, protection and insulation for low voltage (LV) power cables up to 1000 volts. Tough EPDM 3M cold shrink rubber tubes are suitable for underground cable joints and direct burial. Resistant to acids and alkalis. Resistant to fungi, ozone and UV light to seal, protect and insulate outdoor cables.
How ?
3M Cold Shrink tubes are open-ended, tubular rubber sleeves, which are factory expanded onto a removable core. The core is removed after the cold shrink tube has been positioned for installation over an inline connection, splice or cable lug, allowing the cold shrink tube to shrink and form a waterproof seal. Cold shrink tubes provide a quicker, safer and easier sealing solution for cables and pipes than heat shrink - no "hot-work" permit required for oil, gas and petrochemical site installations. T&D stock an extensive range of 3M Cold Shrink Tubes and Tubing.
3M Cold Shrink Tubes meet worldwide standards ANSI, IEEE, VDE, JCAA, REA and CSA.

What is Gemba?
For those who haven’t heard the term Gemba before, it is a Japanese word that means “The Real Place,” and is used in this context to refer to any area of a company where the action is taking place. This could be a warehouse where products are stored and shipped, or
a facility where products are made, or even a customer service area. Anywhere that action is taken and value is created in support of the business is considered Gemba.
So, a Gemba walk is when business leaders leave their offices and go out to see how things are done, and ideally, find ways to make improvements. Managers can get out and observe work from the ‘front lines’ rather than simply reviewing reports or listening to observations of others from behind their desks.

Stop the Accident Before You’re Part of the AccidentBen Geck
One of the most important things any safety manager, or other leader in a facility can do to help improve overall safety is to teach everyone that preventing accidents before they happen is
an important part of their job. While responding
to accidents
after they
happen is
necessary, it
is really only
the result of
the facility
failing to prevent
it from happening in
the first place. Rather
than waiting for problems to come occur, so solutions can be found and implemented, it is much better to always be on the lookout for ways to stop an accident before it becomes a reality.
Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response protocols, often referred to as HAZWOPER, are a set
of standards for dealing
with projects involving
the cleanup of toxic waste. HAZWOPER requires companies to follow a
strict set of health and safety requirements when responding to spillage emergencies or dealing with toxic cleanups.
How to prevent slips and falls in the workplaceBen Geck
Prevent Slips and Falls with Anti-Slip Floor Tape
The rainy season is once again upon us and there’s no time like the present to re-evaluate your safety measures as we come into winter. Wet conditions tend to always bring an increase in slip and fall injuries around the workplace. To reduce the risk factors associated with wet conditions, many have turned to anti-slip floor tape (sometimes referred to as traction tape) to help alert and prevent workers from slipping.

PHP Frameworks: I want to break free (IPC Berlin 2024)Ralf Eggert
In this presentation, we examine the challenges and limitations of relying too heavily on PHP frameworks in web development. We discuss the history of PHP and its frameworks to understand how this dependence has evolved. The focus will be on providing concrete tips and strategies to reduce reliance on these frameworks, based on real-world examples and practical considerations. The goal is to equip developers with the skills and knowledge to create more flexible and future-proof web applications. We'll explore the importance of maintaining autonomy in a rapidly changing tech landscape and how to make informed decisions in PHP development.
This talk is aimed at encouraging a more independent approach to using PHP frameworks, moving towards a more flexible and future-proof approach to PHP development.

Don’t miss this opportunity to elevate your FME expertise and drive your projects to new heights of efficiency.
Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
