The brachial plexus is the network of nerves that sends signals from the spinal cord to the shoulder, arm and hand. A brachial plexus injury occurs when these nerves are stretched, compressed, or in the most serious cases, ripped apart or torn away from the spinal cord.

Physiologists usually need to test their scientific theories by performing experiments on living matter and, ultimately, on living organisms—animals or humans. This issue confronts the physiologist with ethical dilemmas: Can we perform physiological experiments while facing the possibly of harming living beings, or should we reject such studies, and thus preventing the good that can be derived from scientific progress?
A medical educational presentation on Brachial plexus. In this presentation formation of plexus has been explained. Branches with their nerve root value is mentioned. brachial supply to upper limb muscles is briefly explained. clinical anatomy is explained in detail

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. Brachial plexus
Definition
Network of nerves formed by anterior rami of c5,c6,c7,c8, T1.
Function:-
1-Sensory innervation to upper limb.
2- Motor innervation to upper limb & shoulder girdle except Trapezius.
3- Autonomic functions
3. Parts of Brachial plexus:-
1. Root
2. Trunk
3. Divisions
4. Cords
5. Branches

Robert Taylor Drink Cold Beer
4. Location of Brachial plexus
• Cervicobrachial position
• Roots, Trunks, & Divisions located
in posterior triangle of the neck.
• Cords & branches located in the
axilla
5. Location of the brachial plexus
Clavicle divides the plexus into 2 parts
Infraclavicular part
i. Cords
ii. Branches
Supraclavicular part
i. Roots
ii. Trunks
iii. Divisions
6. Relation with Axillary artery
• The cords of the plexus are named according relationship with the
second part of the Axillary artery
• Brachial plexus + Axillary artery + vein are enclosed together in a
connective tissue wrapping termed the axillary sheath.
• The medial cord crosses behind the artery to reach the medial side of
the second part of the artery .
• Posterior cord lies behind the second part of the artery.
• Lateral cord lies lateral to the second part of the artery
7. • Roots:- Anterior rami of C5,C6,C7,C8,T1.
• Trunks:- 3 trunks
I. Upper (2 branches)
II. Middle
III. Lower
• Divisions:- 6 division
I. 3 Anterior division from each trunk
II. 3 Posterior division from each trunk
• Cords:- 3 cords
I. Lateral cord
II. Medial cord
III. Posterior cord
• Branches:- 13 in numbers
I. 5 branches medial cord
II. 5 branches form posterior cord
III. 3 branches from lateral cord.
