Tao helps free a wolf dog and enjoys drawing animal images with colored shells in a cave. He meets an elder named Graybeard who is found sick later on. The story warns that being caught painting cave images could result in death. Tao uses limestone to create bright colors for his drawings of mountains and hides from danger by jumping behind a willow tree at one point.

Ram chases the mammoth cub to save Tao.

Lime stones are used to make bright colors.
Tao paints the mountains-that-walk in a
reddish-brown color.

8. Chapter 14
Tao jumped behind a big willow tree.
Tao hears a wolf sound and crosses the river to
the Mountain people and finds Ram. Then,
Graybeard is found to be very sick.

9. Chapter 16
Volt thinks Tao had defiled the secret place.
Volt makes Tao fight the Saxon.

Tao survived from the Saxons.
