This document provides an overview of a body systems unit that examines how the body's organs and systems work interdependently to carry out everyday tasks. The unit is broken into four subunits that focus on physical activity, energy management, the nervous system, and bodily defense. Each subunit includes assessments, research components, questioning activities, and observations to explore how different body systems must work together to allow the body to function and carry out tasks like playing soccer, eating dinner, and fighting illness.
