A volunteer won an art contest for hate crimes prevention. Programs at two New York schools have ended but their success and legacy will continue through collaborations with other schools. This summer, volunteers focused on community service projects raising awareness of issues in the Asian American community through various events.

REVA University believes that every individual is unique, therefore, it caters to the strengths of students. From dance to drama, music to performances, arts to crafts, sports to yoga, importance is given to most of the co-curricular activities.
REVA students showcase their talent in inter-college sports tournaments or volunteer for fest related activities. Seminars, workshops, industrial visits and other events build up their overall personality, thus, preparing them for life.

Team Up's mission is to improve social mobility by providing university students who participate in their Rising Leaders Programme with professional skills to tutor primary and secondary school pupils, with the goal of empowering pupils to achieve academic excellence and secure exceptional careers. As part of the programme, university students commit to tutoring pupils once a week in small group sessions, which has been shown to improve pupils' attainment by 1 1/2 times the expected progress. Team Up also offers an accredited Certificate in Leading Community Development for committee members who organize recruitment events and raise awareness and funds for Team Up, with the goal of expanding to more universities, students, schools and pupils over the next few years.
Rochelle Batten And Colin Bowen, G L V 2012 Volunteering Legacy Project
The GLV 2012 Volunteering Legacy project was an 18-month pilot across 22 London boroughs to harness enthusiasm for the 2012 Olympics and develop a volunteering legacy. It created online resources for volunteers and organizations, including templates, guidance, and a volunteering calendar. Over 1,000 people registered interest and it worked with over 200 organizations. Key findings were that more opportunities and support are needed for volunteering, especially in some sectors. While the pilot ended in April 2009, the online resources and events calendar will continue.

SOS 2014 Annual Report
