3. OVERVIEW OF BLUETOOTH
⢠What is Bluetooth ?
-Bluetooth is a short-range wireless technology
-The Bluetooth is a wireless technology standard for exchanging data over short distance using short
Radio-Waves frequency of 2.4 GHz.
â˘When does it appear ?
-The Bluetooth specification was first developed in 1994 by sven mattison and Jaap Haartsen, who
were working for Ericssons mobile platforms in Swedan
- 5 companies (Ericsson, Nokia, IBM, Intel & Toshiba) joined to form the Bluetooth special interest
group (SIG) in 1998

4. THE NEXT GENERATION OF BLUETOOTH
TECHNOLOGY
ď§ Bluetooth is a open standard for short-range transmissions of digital
voice and data that support point-to-point and multipoint applications.
Bluetooth is based on low cost, low power, short range radio link
ď§ Bluetooth wireless technology is embedded in the very fabric of
our lives. Billions of Bluetooth enabled devices ship every year,
connecting us to each other and our world. Securing those
connections is essential to our pursuit of a connected world, free from
wires.
4
5. ď§ Building on 20 years of innovation, LE Audio will enhance
the performance of Bluetooth audio, add support for hearing
aids, and introduce Audio Sharing, an innovative new Bluetooth
use case with the potential to once again change the way we
experience audio and connect with the world around us.
ď§Bluetooth LE Audio is coming later in 2020, and it will radically
expand whatâs possible when using compatible devices like smart
phones, wireless headphones, and even hearing aids.
5
6. ⢠The new Bluetooth specification includes the ability to share audio wirelessly
from a single smart phone to many Bluetooth headphones. It also includes a new
standard audio codec known as LC3 that the group claims will sound better and
use less power than the previous standard, called SBC.
LE means Low Energy
⢠LE Audio is a specification for streaming audio using a Bluetooth Low-
Energy (BLE) chip. It marks the first time that BLE chips have been officially
used for this purpose â in the past, theyâve only been used for low-bandwidth
data communication in products like health monitors or smart home sensors.
6
7. 7
ď§ Classic Audio operates on the Bluetooth Classic radio while LE Audio operates on the
Bluetooth Low Energy radio. LE Audio will not only support development of the same audio
products and use cases as Classic Audio, it will introduce exciting new features that promise
to improve their performance as well as enable the creation of new products and use cases.
8. ⢠For consumers, the most exciting aspect of LE Audio is its audio sharing features.
With a compatible smart phone and Bluetooth headphones, more than one person
can listen to the same music, something that Bluetooth hasnât been able to do in
the past. Newer Bluetooth headphones use a feature called multipoint, that allows
them to be connected to two source devices at the same time, but the reverse (one
source device connected to multiple headphones) hasnât been possible
using Bluetooth 5.0.
8
THE NEXT VERSION OF YOUR BLUETOOTH WILL ALLOW
YOU TO SHARE YOUR MUSIC FULL WIRELESSLYâŚ
9. 9
These âsharedâ Bluetooth streams can be made private so that only those who you invite
can listen in, but they can also be made public. Public LE Audio streams would be
accessible by anyone who has an LE Audio-compatible set of headphones and is in range
of the source device.
Broadcast
LE Audio will also add Broadcast Audio, enabling an audio source device to broadcast
one or more audio streams to an unlimited number of audio sink devices. Broadcast
Audio opens significant new opportunities for innovation, including the enablement of a
new Bluetooth use case, Audio Sharing.
10. 10
Personal Audio Sharing
With personal audio sharing, people will be able to share their Bluetooth audio experience
with others around them; for example, sharing music from a smart phone with family and
friends.
Location-Based Audio Sharing
With location-based audio sharing, public venues such as airports, bars, gyms, cinemas, and
conference centers can now share Bluetooth audio that augments the visitor experience.
11. ⢠It is easily upgradeable and connect with multiple devices
⢠It has lower power consumption.
⢠t has range better than Infrared communication.
⢠The Bluetooth is used for voice and data transfer
⢠It works with wireless (Bluetooth works with out cable)
⢠Free to use if the device is installed with Bluetooth.
⢠The technology is adopted in many products such as headphones,
Headset in car system, printer, web cam, GPS system, Speakers,
Home Theaters, Sound Bars, keyboard and mouse.
11
ADVANTAGES
12. ⢠It can lose connection in certain conditions.
⢠It allows only short range communication between
devices.

13. FUTURE OF BLUETOOTH
13
ď§New version of Bluetooth technology will meet the high speed and large range.
ď§Ultra band has been chosen by the Bluetooth special interest group as the future of
Bluetooth technology.
ď§Currently a protocol is being researched that would support large ad hoc networks.
ď§Bluetooth must be successfully integrated into consumer products
ď§World wide usability

SECURITY FEATURE
16. ďśVARIOUS BLUETOOTH PRODUCTS
BLUETOOTH HEADPHONES
16
Generally, we see this type of headsets on the mobile phones or smartphone. The headset enables
you to make or receive the calls on your mobile phones without using any hands & wires. The
headsets are repaired with the voice reorganization, therefore it can dial & talk without using your
mobile headset.
Bluetooth Headphones, which were initially reserved for the athletes and trainers listening to the
music while working out, have now become a popular accessory among the urban youth.
Technology and fashion are becoming one, with headphones turning into a fashion
accessory rather than being a technology. Headphones of today are available in all types and
budgets, with wireless headphones growing in popularity and outselling their wired counterparts.
17. STEREO HEADSET
17
The working of the stereo headsets is same as the traditional headset without using any
wires. This type of headset is connected to the music players to hear the music from our
mobile or smartphone by using wireless communication. The distance range between the
stereo headset & smartphone is very less. This headset also works with the Bluetooth
equipped mobile phones.
18. â˘All wireless devices are not Bluetooth devices.
â˘It covers a wide range of up to 300 feet, depending on the
environmental obstacles
â˘It uses either infrared or radio waves to transmit signals.
â˘It requires an adaptor to connect to the device.
â˘Wireless headsets may or may not be compatible with all devices.
â˘Wireless headsets may or may not be compatible with all devices.
18
WIRELESS HEADPHONES
ď§ All Bluetooth devices can be called wireless.
⢠It covers a limited range, depending on the device, of up to 30
feet or less.
⢠It used radio waves to transmit audio signals
⢠Bluetooth comes built-in within the device by default.
⢠Bluetooth headsets are compatible with most Bluetooth-enabled
devices.

19. HOW TO CHOOSE A BLUETOOTH HEADSET
19
1. Stability
⢠One of the biggest differences between Bluetooth and wired headphones is stability
and delay. If you want to improve stability and further reduce latency, you have to use
stronger Bluetooth technology on your Head phones. Therefore, the mainstream wireless
headphones are Bluetooth 4.2 and Bluetooth 5.0.
Bluetooth 5.0 compared with 4.2, the transmission rate is twice as fast, the transmission
distance is quadrupled while reducing power consumption and power saving, and the
ability of anti-interference has been enhanced.
20. 20
â˘Traditional Bluetooth headphones can only be connected to a single headset, and the left
and right headphones can synchronize the sound through the connection of the wire.
â˘The TWS Bluetooth headset, to put it simply, connects one of the headphones to the
phone as the main headset, and the main headset is connected to the remaining headset,
thus realizing the wireless separation of the left and right channels.
â˘It is also because split headphones can be divided into primary and secondary
headphones, so after a long time, the battery loss of the two headphones will be different.
â˘TWS Plus technology, developed on the basis of TWS, uses both headphones as main
headphones to connect directly to the phone. While avoiding different battery losses,
delay and power consumption are also reduced.
21. 2. SOUND QUALITY
21
⢠When the quality of the sound source is the same, the sound quality mainly depends on the coding
format of the transmission and the sound generating unit of the headset.
⢠According to the current audio coding mode of headphones, the audio quality output level from low
to high mainly includes SBC, AAC, aptX, HWA and LDAC.
⢠In most cases, we buy Bluetooth headphones for convenience. Because Sound quality is very
important, but when we choose and buy, we should not blindly ignore the comfort of wearing for the
sake of sound quality.
22. 3. NOISE REDUCTIONANDWATERPROOFING
22
In addition to the above, other features of headphones are equally important, such as
noise reduction and waterproofing.
â˘Noise reduction is divided into passive noise reduction and active noise reduction,
almost all headphones have a certain physical passive noise reduction effect.
â˘Generally speaking, passive noise reduction is also quite useful in general.
⢠But if you have a high demand for noise reduction (I'm sure you will), you need to see
if the Bluetooth headset has active noise reduction technology. At this time, the
waterproof level of headphones is required to be at least IPX4 and above.
23. ďś
BLUETOOTH AIRPODS & EARBUDS
23
â˘AirPods are wireless Bluetooth earbuds created by Apple. In addition to playing audio, AirPods feature a
built-in microphone that filters out background noise, which allows phone calls and talking to Apple's
digital assistant, Siri.
â˘Additionally, built-in accelerometers and optical sensors can detect taps (e.g. double-tap to pause audio)
and in-ear placement, which enables automatic pausing when they are taken out of the ears.
â˘AirPods contain a proprietary Apple W1SoCprocessor which helps optimize battery use and processes
the Bluetooth 4.2 connection as well as audio connection.
24. 24
⢠One of the best ways to listen to our favorite music without disturbing people around us
is by using wireless Bluetooth earbuds. If you are someone like me, you might own a
great pair of wireless earbuds with excellent sound quality, amazing design, and very
good noise cancelation that get you through noisy commutes easily
⢠Conventional Bluetooth audio creates a single link between a source device like a
smartphone and a set of wireless headphones. For wireless headphones, itâs a reliable
technology because the headphones split the stereo signal into separate channels and a
physical wire connects the two sides. With true wireless earbuds, itâs trickier. Typically,
one of the earbuds must act as the wireless connection to the phone and then create a
secondary wireless connection to the other earbud.
25. ďśBLUETOOTH SPEAKERS
25
⢠Bluetooth speakers eschew this physical-cable limitation by relying on the same
Bluetooth protocol and audio system that underlies Bluetooth wireless cellphone
earpieces and in-car Bluetooth speakerphone systems.
How Are They Different from Wi-Fi Speakers?
Bluetooth speakers are different from Wi-Fi based audio solutions, like the whole-house Sonos
system, in several key ways. First, Bluetooth solutions are typically meant to be highly portable
whereas whole-house solutions are usually installed permanently or semi-permanently in fixed
locations.
26. 26
ď§Second, Bluetooth speakers link directly to their source (usually a phone or tablet) and
require no intermediary whereas whole-house solutions require the Wi-Fi network to
bridge the source and the devices. This also allows whole-house networks to broadcast
the same music stream to multiple and distance speakers, however, a feature impractical
for Bluetooth speakers that have a roughly 30 foot range.
â˘Finally audio quality is slightly higher on Bluetooth systems than on Wi-Fi systems (all
other variables the same) simply because of the nature of the transmission; practically
speaking this is a non-consideration; however, as under casual listening conditions the
difference

connected. Other Connections And Controls
29. 29
⢠The Home Theater System will connect to your Bluetooth, allowing you to broadcast your favorite
music and movies as well as games and audio books from your mobile device. You wonât need to
worry about the wires all over your home with this system and when there are so many pieces of audio
(six total), thatâs going to save a lot of set up hassle and even more of the eye sore problems that are
often associated with a surround sound home theater system.
30. ďśIN â CAR BLUETOOTH HEADSET
30
ď§ In the cars we observe the music player system, it is connected to the mobile Bluetooth
system wireless. With the help of the car speaker system, we can receive and make the
calls. Without using a mobile device.
ďśBLUETOOTH ENABLED WEBCAM
The working of the Bluetooth enabled webcam is same as the traditional webcam. They
are connected wirelessly. The wireless capabilities add mobility to the device, unlike
traditional webcams, which remain docked onto or near the computer.
31. 31
ďśBluetooth GPS Device
The GPS device with the Bluetooth technology is an improvement in the traditional GPS. This device
is communicated through the voice. If we speak or mention the address in the GPS, on the screen, it
can get the directions to the address and also there will be voice direction.
ďśBluetooth Keyboard
The Bluetooth keyboard works without the help of the wires connected to the device to a computer or
a laptop. This Bluetooth device is also working for the mobile phones or smartphone devices.
