Two second cousins, Patrick Strong and John Roberts, play an important role for the Armidale Blues rugby team. They have a strong on-field connection due to their lifelong friendship and having played other sports together from a young age. Strong convinced Roberts to switch from league to rugby permanently. They are both regular try scorers and handle conversions and penalty kicks. Off the field, Strong was one of Roberts' groomsmen and is affectionately known as "Uncle Choc" by Roberts' daughter. They will look to help the Blues retain the APJ New England Rugby trophy in their upcoming match.
