The dominant media source in our part of the state, uniquely positioned near a pair of SEC schools. Our seven-person staff reports on both of those in addition to nearly 60 high schools, two community colleges and a variety of other sports and activities. We are assisted by writers from our sister weekly papers and a group of trusted stringers. Our staff won a combined 18 awards in the two major state contests for content published in 2010 (APME, MPA), including two for our college-related blogs, and an additional 6 awards for published sports photography.
