This document discusses the cloning of the human estrogen receptor cDNA. Researchers prepared cDNA from MCF-7 breast cancer cell line RNA and screened it using monoclonal antibodies against the human estrogen receptor. They isolated two cDNA clones, XOR3 and XOR8, that were able to produce the 65 kDa estrogen receptor protein when translated in vitro. The isolated cDNA clones correspond to the human estrogen receptor mRNA.
