India's GDP is projected to surpass the US to become the world's largest economy by 2052, reaching $45 trillion according to a CLSA report. By 2027, India will surpass Japan to become the third largest economy. However, CLSA expects a slowdown in India's growth until September 2024 followed by a recovery in 2025. S&P Global Ratings also projects India's GDP growth to rise to 7% by 2026, higher than China's projected 4.6% growth. The OECD forecasts India's growth slowing to 6.1% in FY2025 from an estimated 6.3% in FY2024.
The document discusses the defeat of the Indian cricket team in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final against Australia. It notes that while this was disappointing for Indian fans, important life lessons can be learned from setbacks like embracing challenges positively, valuing teamwork, and improving through reflection and learning. It also provides updates about Balmer Lawrie's financial performance, observance of Vigilance Awareness Week, and personnel changes and new recruits.
This weekly media update from Balmer Lawrie provides summaries of recent news articles related to the Indian economy, GOI policies and PSEs, and Balmer Lawrie's business sectors. Key articles discuss S&P raising India's FY24 growth forecast to 6.4% due to robust domestic demand, estimates that Q2 GDP growth will be 6.7-7% driven by services and government spending, and forecasts that FY24 will see strong economic growth and macroeconomic stability according to the Finance Ministry.
1. Vol. 4 Issue 7 July 2014
Editorial
The FIFA world cup fever had gripped one and all across the globe, but Brazil's exit had left millions of
soccer aficionados and fans terribly heartbroken. While sports analysts all over the world are discussing
this indelible case study, I recall a beautiful quote by Michael Jordan, “Talent wins games, but teamwork
and intelligence wins championships.” So let's leverage the spirit of team working in achieving our
collective goals and emerge as champions. In the month of June 2014, we witnessed a wonderful
example of "team working makes champions" at BL, and that was the highest ever despatch from IP,
Silvassa. Kudos to the team for this achievement!
As promised, we bring you glimpses of the World Environment Day programs held across units and
establishments, in this issue. BLOOM congratulates all the employees who were promoted recently, and
welcomes all the Executive Trainees and new joinees to Balmer Lawrie.
As always, do not hesitate to send your contribution, suggestion or feedback, if any, to
mukhopadhyay.mohar@balmerlawrie.com.

Glimpses from the Capital City
The Lotus Temple, located in New Delhi is a Bahá'í House of Worship completed in 1986. Notable for its
exclusive architecture, it serves as the Mother Temple of the Indian subcontinent and has become a
prominent attraction in the city. Like all other Bahá'í Houses of Worship, the Lotus Temple is open to all
regardless of religion, or any other distinction, as emphasized in Bahá'í texts. The Bahá'í laws
emphasize that the spirit of the House of Worship be a gathering place where people of all religions may
worship God without denominational restrictions. The Lotus Temple has won numerous architectural
awards.
