   1 hour on Blood Brothers
   Question 1 – extract question (10 marks) – 20
    mins
   Question 2 – choose one of two essay titles
    writing about whole text (20 marks) – 40
    mins
   40% of final English Literature grade
 Spend 20 mins
 Questions tend to focus on either character or mood
  and atmosphere (or thoughts and feelings if
  Foundation tier)
 AO1 – explore key quotations from the extract in
  detail and explain their affect on an audience
 AO2
 Language – actual language/dialect used by
  characters and how it reveals class status
 Structure – where does the extract feature in relation
  to the play? What comes before and what follows?
 Form – which play conventions are used e.g. stage
  directions, music, humour, the role of the narrator
  etc
