Wolves attack to obtain food or play, though some attack for other reasons. There are many wolf types worldwide but the most recognized are gray or white ice wolves living in polar regions. While rare, some wolves thrive in non-snowy, warm areas but most need cold climates like those near Africa. Wolves are great animals in the author's opinion and deserve protection as some species face decline due to overhunting.
