Why Do Projects Fail?
Project failure rates are certainly cause for concern, but consider that more
and more organizations are adopting a project-based model of organization,
called PBO, and it is not surprising to find that addressing failures and learning
from them has become increasingly important (Eden, Ackermann, & Williams,
2005; Gray & Larson, 2006; Hyvari, 2006; Robertson & Williams, 2006; Thiry &
Deguire, 2007).
Failures occur despite the fact that we have significantly improved the
process of planning, executing, and controlling projects. Two contributions
would include the Project Management Institute’s (PMI’s) A Guide to the
Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) (2004) and the
literature on critical success factors (CSFs) (Cooke-Davies, 2002; Fortune &
White, 2006; Hyvari, 2006; Pinto & Slevin, 1987; Sutterfield, Friday-Stroud,
& Shivers-Blackwell, 2006).
To help us understand how projects fail, it may be useful to classify the
approaches represented by the PMBOK® Guide, Capability Maturity Model
Integration (CMMI), Earned Value Management (EVM), Critical Chain
Project Management (CCPM), and CSFs as the Rational Expectation view
of project management. They assume that project leaders follow a rational
and consistent approach to project management and strive to achieve spe-
cific organizational goals (Bazerman, 1994; Beach & Connolly, 2005). It is a
view that emphasizes what “should” be done. Argyris (1999) referred to this
as the “espoused” theory of individuals and organizations.
There is, however, another view, and it focuses on the way in which indi-
viduals within an organization actually behave and make decisions.
Borrowing from the work of Simon (1955) and Tversky and Kahneman (1974,
1981), it can be classified as the “behavioral” view of project management. It
emphasizes what individuals and groups “actually” do and how managers
make decisions involving values and risk preferences (Bazerman, 1994).
Argyris (1999) called this the “theory-in-practice.”
This article focuses on the behavioral view of project management and
how an understanding of systematic biases—those common to the human
decision-making process—can prove useful in diagnosing project failure. By
studying these systematic biases, we can learn how decision makers respond
to ambiguity, complexity, and uncertainty, as well as how their own particu-
lar psychological processes influence project decision making (Schwenk,
1984). From this behavioral view we can learn more about why management
approves an overly ambitious scope, why communications between teams is
limited, why a manager might ignore signs that the project is going badly, or
why a manager discourages the participation of a wider constituency in the
project management process.

programming dominates all others—namely, threads,
sequential processes that share memory. They represent
a key concurrency model supported by modern com-
puters, programming languages, and operating systems.
Many general-purpose parallel architectures in use
today—such as symmetric multiprocessors—are direct
hardware realizations of the thread abstraction.
Some applications can use threads very effectively—
for example, so-called embarrassingly parallel applica-
tions that essentially spawn multiple independent
processes such as build tools (PVM gmake) or Web
servers. Given these applications’ independence, pro-
gramming is relatively easy and the abstraction being
used is more like processes than threads. Where such
applications do share data, they do so through database
abstractions, which manage concurrency through such
mechanisms as transactions. However, client-side appli-
cations are not so simple.
Threads are not the only possibility for concurrent
programming. In scientific computing, where perfor-
mance requirements have long demanded concurrent
programming, data-parallel language extensions and
message-passing libraries—such as PVM, MPI, and
OpenMP—dominate over threads for concurrent pro-
gramming. Computer architectures intended for scien-
tific computing often differ significantly from so-called
general-purpose architectures. They commonly support
vectors and streams in hardware, for example. However,
even in this domain, concurrent programs remain
tedious to write. C and Fortran dominate, despite a long
history of much better data-parallel languages.

Similarly, how do the weekly meetings in the author’s living room serve as a sanctuary for the women in the literature group and why do they find the need to expose their true selves and all their colors in this sacred space? Could the Citadel be considered functioning as a totalitarian regime? Looking back at the history of the United States helps open our eyes to the positive and negative impacts of decisions made by our elected officials. No matter who is President, we can find many accomplishments and failures a like. President Lyndon Johnson is no different. He had many successes and failures. One of his most notable accomplishments is creating the Great Society. This was his plight to attack poverty, race, and immigration. He decided after a report produced by the Council of Economic Advisers in 1964 that he would work to eliminate poverty. The report "estimated that 22 percent of the nation's population lived in poverty, lacking adequate food, shelter, and clothing" (Schultz, 2013, p 494). He persuaded Congress to pass the Economic Opportunity Act, which was designed to include many programs to eliminate poverty. Many of these programs delt with education and jobs. He also worked to create Medicare and Medicaid to provide medical insurance for the elderly and poor (Schultz, 2013). When it came to civil rights of Americans, he signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which "outlawed discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion or sex" (Evaluating the success of the Great Society, n.d. para 7). It also allowed lawsuits against segregated schools. These programs all were seen as a positive to LBJs presidency. One last positive to look at was his work on immigration. He got rid of the national origins formula from the 1920s and opened the United States up to all immigrants (Evaluating the success of the Great Society, n.d.). These were all considered positive accomplishments of his presidency. Many see his biggest failure as the Vietnam War. His fear of the domino theory that was the thought that if one country fell to communism the surrounding ones will also fall to communism (Schultz, 2013). He felt the way to help Vietnam was to send more troops but could not get Congress to declare war on Vietnam. Instead, it turned into a police action. His involvement in Vietnam was the downfall of his presidency. As the war continued, America was rocked with protests and he lost popularity with his own political party (History.com Editors, 2009). This was his political demise. Still to this day people question why we were there.
After my research, I would say that over all President Johnson did a lot of great things for the United States. we cannot judge a president off of a few mistakes. We need to keep an open mind and look at the Presidency as a whole. My opinion is that Johnson made great strides in America. His Presidency had great impacts on the citizens of this country. While I felt his decision on Vietnam was wrong, his idea of the Great Society had a positive impact on our country.

Why Do Projects Fail?
Project failure rates are certainly cause for concern, but consider that more
and more organizations are adopting a project-based model of organization,
called PBO, and it is not surprising to find that addressing failures and learning
from them has become increasingly important (Eden, Ackermann, & Williams,
2005; Gray & Larson, 2006; Hyvari, 2006; Robertson & Williams, 2006; Thiry &
Deguire, 2007).
Failures occur despite the fact that we have significantly improved the
process of planning, executing, and controlling projects. Two contributions
would include the Project Management Institute’s (PMI’s) A Guide to the
Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) (2004) and the
literature on critical success factors (CSFs) (Cooke-Davies, 2002; Fortune &
White, 2006; Hyvari, 2006; Pinto & Slevin, 1987; Sutterfield, Friday-Stroud,
& Shivers-Blackwell, 2006).
To help us understand how projects fail, it may be useful to classify the
approaches represented by the PMBOK® Guide, Capability Maturity Model
Integration (CMMI), Earned Value Management (EVM), Critical Chain
Project Management (CCPM), and CSFs as the Rational Expectation view
of project management. They assume that project leaders follow a rational
and consistent approach to project management and strive to achieve spe-
cific organizational goals (Bazerman, 1994; Beach & Connolly, 2005). It is a
view that emphasizes what “should” be done. Argyris (1999) referred to this
as the “espoused” theory of individuals and organizations.
There is, however, another view, and it focuses on the way in which indi-
viduals within an organization actually behave and make decisions.
Borrowing from the work of Simon (1955) and Tversky and Kahneman (1974,
1981), it can be classified as the “behavioral” view of project management. It
emphasizes what individuals and groups “actually” do and how managers
make decisions involving values and risk preferences (Bazerman, 1994).
Argyris (1999) called this the “theory-in-practice.”
This article focuses on the behavioral view of project management and
how an understanding of systematic biases—those common to the human
decision-making process—can prove useful in diagnosing project failure. By
studying these systematic biases, we can learn how decision makers respond
to ambiguity, complexity, and uncertainty, as well as how their own particu-
lar psychological processes influence project decision making (Schwenk,
1984). From this behavioral view we can learn more about why management
approves an overly ambitious scope, why communications between teams is
limited, why a manager might ignore signs that the project is going badly, or
why a manager discourages the participation of a wider constituency in the
project management process.

programming dominates all others—namely, threads,
sequential processes that share memory. They represent
a key concurrency model supported by modern com-
puters, programming languages, and operating systems.
Many general-purpose parallel architectures in use
today—such as symmetric multiprocessors—are direct
hardware realizations of the thread abstraction.
Some applications can use threads very effectively—
for example, so-called embarrassingly parallel applica-
tions that essentially spawn multiple independent
processes such as build tools (PVM gmake) or Web
servers. Given these applications’ independence, pro-
gramming is relatively easy and the abstraction being
used is more like processes than threads. Where such
applications do share data, they do so through database
abstractions, which manage concurrency through such
mechanisms as transactions. However, client-side appli-
cations are not so simple.
Threads are not the only possibility for concurrent
programming. In scientific computing, where perfor-
mance requirements have long demanded concurrent
programming, data-parallel language extensions and
message-passing libraries—such as PVM, MPI, and
OpenMP—dominate over threads for concurrent pro-
gramming. Computer architectures intended for scien-
tific computing often differ significantly from so-called
general-purpose architectures. They commonly support
vectors and streams in hardware, for example. However,
even in this domain, concurrent programs remain
tedious to write. C and Fortran dominate, despite a long
history of much better data-parallel languages.
For concurrent programming to become mainstream, we must discard threads as a
programming model. Nondeterminism should be judiciously and carefully introduced
where needed, and it should be explicit in programs.

How does Faludi understand the way the Citadel presents itself as a ‘sanctuary’ from a libertine and effeminized world? Similarly, how do the weekly meetings in the author’s living room serve as a sanctuary for the women in the literature group and why do they find the need to expose their true selves and all their colors in this sacred space? Could the Citadel be considered functioning as a totalitarian regime? If so, how are the Citadel’s “laws” similar to the laws of the Islamic Republic after the revolution regarding their behavior towards women?

1.0 Executive Summary
Papa Geo’s Restaurant needs to be competitive and unveil marketing crusades to protect their returns in the business. However, it is guided by typical objectives in the marketing plan. The first objective of the restaurant is ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. The target market entails about 10,000 families which is a totality of lower to middle class clients with zero direct competition. However, the customers’ satisfaction is determined the customer’s loyalty to the restaurant especially due to the services that they receive. The restaurant wins the customers through the good Italian food of low price. Stunning cleanliness of the restaurant is welcoming and eye catching which applies to both the foods served and the environment. Generation of the restraint traffic will impact the Restaurant towards success. The restaurant will cultivate a customer base such as having demanding lunchtimes and dinner services through intensive marketing. It will achieve this through weekly and monthly promotions as the marketing strategies.
The restaurant needs to attain their financial goals. The objective is to meet the financial income goal of $40000 annually. At the starting of the second year the company expects to attain a minimum of 2% profits of the sales. The main objective of the restaurant is profitability. It is attainable with the managerial ability to achieve the weekly goals especially through cost reduction with profitability growth concurrently.The restaurant needs to develop a restaurant brand. As the restaurant grows successfully, it will improve it’s place in the local market and toughen the brand. The quality of the food served has a great influence on the restaurant branding. The company purposes to cook using healthy products and use the brand to win new customers (Myers, 2019).
2.0 Sales Forecast
The sales forecast table illustrates the restaurants ability to offer services to the clients through listing the total services sold and the net sales in every year.2.1 Sales Forecast

Looking back at the history of the United States helps open our eyes to the positive and negative impacts of decisions made by our elected officials. No matter who is President, we can find many accomplishments and failures a like. President Lyndon Johnson is no different. He had many successes and failures. One of his most notable accomplishments is creating the Great Society. This was his plight to attack poverty, race, and immigration. He decided after a report produced by the Council of Economic Advisers in 1964 that he would work to eliminate poverty. The report "estimated that 22 percent of the nation's population lived in poverty, lacking adequate food, shelter, and clothing" (Schultz, 2013, p 494). He persuaded Congress to pass the Economic Opportunity Act, which was designed to include many programs to eliminate poverty. Many of these programs delt with education and jobs. He also worked to create Medicare and Medicaid to provide medical insurance for the elderly and poor (Schultz, 2013). When it came to civil rights of Americans, he signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which "outlawed discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion or sex" (Evaluating the success of the Great Society, n.d. para 7). It also allowed lawsuits against segregated schools. These programs all were seen as a positive to LBJs presidency. One last positive to look at was his work on immigration. He got rid of the national origins formula from the 1920s and opened the United States up to all immigrants (Evaluating the success of the Great Society, n.d.). These were all considered positive accomplishments of his presidency. Many see his biggest failure as the Vietnam War. His fear of the domino theory that was the thought that if one country fell to communism the surrounding ones will also fall to communism (Schultz, 2013). He felt the way to help Vietnam was to send more troops but could not get Congress to declare war on Vietnam. Instead, it turned into a police action. His involvement in Vietnam was the downfall of his presidency. As the war continued, America was rocked with protests and he lost popularity with his own political party (History.com Editors, 2009). This was his political demise. Still to this day people question why we were there.
After my research, I would say that over all President Johnson did a lot of great things for the United States. we cannot judge a president off of a few mistakes. We need to keep an open mind and look at the Presidency as a whole. My opinion is that Johnson made great strides in America. His Presidency had great impacts on the citizens of this country. While I felt his decision on Vietnam was wrong, his idea of the Great Society had a positive impact on our country.

A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.

The recent surge in pro-Palestine student activism has prompted significant responses from universities, ranging from negotiations and divestment commitments to increased transparency about investments in companies supporting the war on Gaza. This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.
