Slavery Slaves were brought mainly from Africa or Brazil Slaves had to listen to their slave owners and not to be able to marry the free which are those who are not slaves Any person that is shipped in and not a Christian will be a slave.
Slavery in relation to the novel Both use racial discrimination against the blacks. In the novel the blacks were accused for nothing. In reality the blacks had to listen to all the orders of the whites and were treated cruelly.
The Civil War The Southern States: Texas, Missouri, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia,  Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.  President Abraham Lincoln declared war on the Southern States. The war was fought for the freedom of the slaves where the Northern States abolished slavery and the Southern States still wanted control over the slaves.
The Civil War The Civil War was fought from 1861 to 1865. The Northern States won the War and gained the freedom of the slaves.
Jim Crow Laws A song’s name To state the local laws in America during the period of 1876 till 1965 Separated the blacks and the whites Gave whites an advantage among the public in social, education and etc. Blacks were treated unfairly and were very unhappy
In relation to the novel In Tom Robinson’s case, he was accused of rape by a white who did not see him committing that crime,
The Civil Rights Movement Started in 1950 Political movement of equality before the law, improves legal rights Chicano Movement Sought political empowerment and social inclusion for Mexicans American-Indian Movement Violent protest gatherings, 2 men died as a result
The Civil Rights Movement President John F. Kennedy supported the movement Outcome: The Blacks were as equal as the Whites Relation to the novel: Atticus fought for the rights of  Tom Robinson, like the Civil Rights Movement would have done.
Montgomery Bus Boycott and Scottsboro Trials Both are fighting for the rights of the blacks as the transport system was biased to the whites In the Scottsboro Trials, they were accused of rape which they never committed.
