The Family Tree program allows users to view, build, and edit a biological pedigree online or through FamilySearch.org. It is a live program, meaning changes made by any user are instantly visible. Individuals can see their own ancestry and descendancy trees, view details about ancestors and descendants, and make edits or additions. Sources are used to determine correct ancestral information and can be attached to individuals as proof.

2.  The Family Tree program is a biological
pedigree open to both Church members
and anyone who has registered on
Familysearch.com.
 It is a ‘live’ program, which means that
changes are instant.
 Anyone who is able to sign in can see and
change anything.
 It depends on sources to determine the
most correct information.

3. Go to Familysearch.org on the internet
and Sign In to see the Family Tree.

4. Use your LDS Account Name and Password

5. Family Tree option appears -
Click on tab to access program.

6. Top part of screen for research
Bottom part for Pedigree program

7. Couple pedigree – Husband’s ancestors
above, wife’s ancestors below.
Children to the left.

8. Zoom in or out (plus &
minus) to size screen.
Use arrows to move screen.
Click on small circle in
middle to reset screen to
original position.

9. Hover your mouse over a
couple on the pedigree to
show ordinance status and
more relationships.

10. Click on [All Wives] to see
both wives.

11. Click on [Children] to see all
children in the family.

12. Click on [Parents] to see all
parents connected to a
person in the program.

13. Click on [Expand Tree] to
see more generations.

14. Click on arrow to
collapse generations.

15. Click on Person’s name
to view Summary card.

computer.
