GEDCOM files can be uploaded to FamilySearch.org to be included in the Pedigree Resource File, but cannot be directly uploaded to Family Tree. Users can copy information from an uploaded GEDCOM file into Family Tree. The GEDCOM upload process allows users to compare uploaded files to what is already in Family Tree and identify potential matches, records that can be added, or those already included. However, notes, sources, and multimedia links currently cannot be added to Family Tree from a GEDCOM file.
The Quick Attach feature allows adding ancestors and sources from US Census records between 1850-1940 to a family tree. For earlier census records that don't identify relationships, family members must be manually added. It can attach sources to new family members identified in later census records.
