Biomaster antimicrobial additives for Paper
Biomaster for paper is an aqueous dispersion of Silver
Chloride coated Titanium Dioxide particles. The inorganic
nature and small particle size of this product makes it ideal
for use in the preparation of antimicrobial papers.
Biomaster can be applied at the metered size press in the paper-making
process. This ensures optimum utilisation of the additive with minimum
disruption to the manufacturing process.
The high concentration of the antimicrobial active agent in
which
Biomaster provides a release of silver ions on demand, which
in turn safely inhibits microbial growth. The low level of
surfactants contained ensures that thorough coating is carried
out with the minimum risk of foam formation, whilst
maintaining a stable suspension with no flocculation.
The small particle size of the patented product ensures maximum
penetration into the paper web over a wide range of machine speeds, nip
loads, paper surface openness and filler contents.
The Biomaster additive does not affect the basic colour or surface finish of
paper systems in which it is used.
The controlled release of the silver active provides maximum long term
activity.
