Albrecht Tubke is a German photographer born in 1971 who specializes in portraiture. He studied at the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts and Guildhall University in London, receiving diplomas in 1997 and 2001 respectively. Tubke is inspired by the human form and exploring different ways of life. He cites photographers August Sander, Diane Arbus, and Richard Avedon as influences for their straightforward portrait styles capturing peoples' lives intelligently. After finishing his studies, Tubke photographed people in European and American cities, continuing the tradition of documentary portraiture.
