Andy Beaven started his career as a mechanic in the UK and raced motorbikes in his spare time, then worked for various rally teams in Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. He spent over twenty years with Toyota, helping their rally and racing programs, including three constructor titles and four driver titles. After Toyota ended their rally program, he worked on prototype builds and their Le Mans and Formula One projects. In 2009, he joined Abu Dhabi Motorsport Management and helped create the facilities at Yas Marina Circuit, making it ready to host the inaugural Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Andrew Philip Beaven
Bio
Andy started his motorsport career as an apprentice mechanic in the UK
racing motorbikes in his spare time. Moving to Europe in his early twenties he
worked for various Rally Teams contesting European, African, Asia Pacific
and Middle-East championships.
Working at Toyota Team Europe / Toyota Motorsport GmbH in Cologne,
Germany for more than twenty years he was heavily involved with the World
Rally Championship primarily within the Test and Development department
and then onto the Race Team helping to secure three World Constructors
Titles and four World Rally Championship drivers titles. After the rally program
was halted at the end 1999 his involvement was with prototype builds,
Le Mans project, and concluding his time at Toyota as F1 Race Team
Coordinator after eight years of contesting the Formula One World
Championship
Joining Abu Dhabi Motorsport Management in 2009, he put his motorsport
knowledge gained to good use to help create one of the finest Formula One
and motorsport facilities in the world at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, UAE
The entire project was made ready for the inaugural Etihad Airways Abu
Dhabi Grand Prix and the final Grand Prix of the 2009 season
With his passion for motorsport and demand for high standards and level of
service, as Head of Sporting working closely with the FIA and FOM he has
continued to help maintain the reputation of the facility well known for its
ability to deliver top class events and maintain its high level of track safety
Outside of the motorsport events held at Yas Marina Circuit, Andy has been
instrumental in the planning, organization, preparation and delivery of many
other major events both National, International and both private and corporate
He is now working as an external consultant and advisor in the Automotive,
Motorsport, Events and Entertainment sector
Andy currently resides in Abu Dhabi UAE with his wife Amanda
