Bill Bowerman was the co-founder of NIKE and helped make the University of Oregon's track program legendary during his time there as an athlete and coach. After graduating, he worked as a journalist and high school track coach, training numerous champions. Bowerman's last job was with NIKE, which he co-created with one of his former students to start a shoe company. Under his leadership, NIKE became one of the most popular shoe brands in America.
