2003 and March 2013
Outstanding investment In Bihar is Rs 3,11,527
crore.
The share of public investment in Bihar, as in
March 2013, was 50.3%. Huge scope for
improvement in this area.
70 % of Bihar’s total investment now goes to electricity.

Hence irrigation projects have huge potential

Huge supply capacity of sugar.
Huge potential for Breweries, Beverage manufacturers.
Other allied sectors to Sugar can be looked at as well.
Cold storage infrastructure at Bihar is still underdeveloped.
Sectors of
13 sugar mills in private sector and 15 in the public
sector located in south and north Bihar with a total
crushing capacity of 45,000 TPD

5. Rich farmlands and lush orchards are spread throughout the State.
Places of tourist attraction –
• Rajgir, Nalanda, Vaishali, Pawapuri (where Lord Mahavira breathed his last and attained Nirvana ),
• Bodh Gaya, Vikramshila (ruins of Buddhist University of higher learning),
• Gaya, Patna (ancient city of Patliputra), Sasaram (tomb of Shershah Suri)
• Madhubani (known for famous Madhubani Paintings).
French companies
are exploring
investment
opportunities
in Bihar
Etienne (indo-French consulate), who
was on a fact-finding visit to the state,
listed education, tourism and single
brand retail sectors in which French
industries may be interested in making
investment or collaborating with the
state government.
Trends in Investments An MoU between Chanakya National
Law University (CNLU), Patna, and
University of Toulouse, France, is likely
to be signed soon. That will facilitate
students exchange programmes.
National Institute of Fashion
Technology (NIFT) also has
collaboration with various French
schools of design
