Ecological footprints measure the amount of productive land and sea area required to support a population's lifestyle or consumption patterns. Activities like energy production, transportation, urbanization, deforestation, agriculture all contribute to ecological footprints. Many countries and lifestyles currently have footprints that exceed their own biological capacity. To reduce footprints and promote sustainability, alternatives to fossil fuels like solar, wind, tidal and bioenergy can be pursued along with more efficient transportation and reduced pollution.

Van de Graaff generators produce strong electric fields by using a moving belt to transfer charge to a conductive sphere, increasing its voltage. They can generate over 20 million volts with pressurized gas. Electric fields are regions of space around charged objects where other charges experience a force. The strength of the electric field depends on the magnitude of the charge and distance from it. Conductors allow the redistribution of charge on their surfaces, shielding their interiors from electric fields.

This document provides guidance on executing a successful RFP (request for proposal) process. It begins by outlining when an RFP is the right tool and when it may not be suitable. When scope is unclear or requirements are not well defined, a project charter can help determine the best path forward. The document emphasizes treating the RFP as a process, not just a document, with clear communication and sufficient time allotted. It also provides tips on prioritizing requirements, evaluating differentiators between vendors, negotiating contracts, and determining when to engage a consultant.
The document discusses the benefits of conducting a Request for Proposal (RFP) process when selecting providers for a company's retirement plan. It notes that an RFP documents the due diligence process and can help fiduciaries find more cost-efficient options and understand different service levels. While an RFP is not required, expert testimony and DOL guidance recommend shopping plans every 3-5 years. However, few sponsors have conducted an RFP recently due to misconceptions. The document then addresses common misconceptions and outlines benefits of an RFP such as fulfilling fiduciary obligations, benchmarking expenses, providing a bargaining tool, and being an educational experience.

possible before documents are submitted to the Federal government. We review your final draft of strategies
and plans before they are submitted to maximize your chances of GSA Schedule approval.
This level of service is our most popular level of service. At this level, we guarantee your company will get on the
GSA Schedule, and we do all of the work. We do all letters, revisions, amendments, on-line applications, and file
an electronic offer. We field phone calls, respond to information requests, send and receive faxes and do
whatever else is necessary. At this level we act as your agent. We negotiate your preferred customer pricing with
the government and leave you free to do what you do best. We work directly with the government on your
behalf -- the only contact required between you and the government is a conference call to finalize
negotiations (based on prices we have negotiated on your behalf with your prior approval).
With this level of service, BIDS will prepare all responses on your behalf, update and make changes to the
proposal after submission, performnegotiations with the government and prepare final proposal revisions.
