Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Analysis
Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) is an open heart surgery where a section of a blood vessel,
either a vein or artery, is grafted from the coronary artery to the aorta to bypass a blocked section of
the artery to improve blood supply to the myocardium (See appendix A for Physiology) The primary
foundation of CABG is to regenerate perfusion to the myocardium. (Diodato Chedrawy. 2014), The
goals of CABG include improving your quality of life, reducing angina allowing you to restart a more
active regime, Improving the pumping action of your heart if it has been damaged by a heart attack,
lowering the risk of a heart attack, in some patients who have increased risk, like those who have
diabetes, Improving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Smoking causes damage to the bypass grafts and other blood vessels, decreases the amount of oxygen
available in the blood and increases the patient s blood pressure and heart rate.
Achieving an optimal BMI, by watching portion sizes and exercising, is essential. Being overweight

medically supervised program that helps improve the health and well being of people who have heart
problems.
Rehab programs include exercise training, education on heart healthy living, and counseling to reduce
stress and help you return to an active life. Doctors supervise these programs, which may be offered in
hospitals and other community facilities. Taking medicines as prescribed also is an important part of
care after surgery. Your doctor may prescribe medicines to manage pain during recovery; lower

Prior to examining the specific geographical features of Plaster Creek, it is important to understand
what a creek is. There are many different ideas of what a creek is. In order to gain a factual
understanding of what a creek essentially is, the dictionary definition of, a natural stream of water
normally smaller than and often tributary to a river can be examined (Merrian Webster). In addition to
this, National Geographic defines a creed as simply, any body of flowing fluid (National Geographic).
Creeks can vary greatly in size and are shaped by its surrounding geography. Now that the definition
of stream has been defined and a few of its key characteristics discussed, the specific geographical

Like surrounding regions of west Michigan, Lake Michigan plays a role in the climate of Plaster
Creek. Lake Michigan s effect on temperatures results in slightly warmer winters and cooler summers.
This can be displayed in the average winter temperature of Plaster Creek which was recorded to be
twenty two degrees fahrenheit and an average summer temperature of seventy one degrees fahrenheit.
The climate surrounding Plaster Creek receives a fair amount of precipitation, with average rainfall
totaling approximately thirty six inches and an average snowfall which is estimated to be about
seventy eight inches. The topography surrounding this twenty six mile stream varies greatly. One
element that unifies the topography of Plaster Creek is the presence of large rocks and boulders. This
is a consistent element of Plaster Creek s topography is a result of glacial movement in the area. The
human characteristics that add to the place of Plaster Creek are mainly composed of bridges and
walking trails. In two different locations, there are bridges that cross Plaster Creek. These bridges
allow for an extensive network of three walking and hiking trails to be possible. The first of these
trails begins as Ken O Sha Park. This trail offers a pedestrian footpath surrounded by educational
signs and plaques. The second trail following Plaster Creek begins at Eastern Avenue to Division

Loratadine Hcl (LOR)
Introduction
Loratadine HCl (LOR) , which is chemically designated as ethyl 4 (8 chloro 5,6 dihydro,11H
benzo[5,6] cyclohepta[1,2 b]pyridin 11 ylidene) 1 piperidinecarboxylate Hydrochloride is a tricyclic,
piperidine derivative of antihistamines [1,2]. It is a second generation antihistamines, so it has non
sedating properties. Loratadine are newer drugs that are much more selective for peripheral H1
receptors as opposed to the central nervous system H1 receptors and cholinergic receptors. H1
antihistamines are applied in the treatment of allergies, they prevent symptoms such as itching,
congestion, rhinorrhoea, tearing and sneezing. This selectivity significantly reduces the occurrence of
adverse drug reactions, such as sedation, while ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
CDs with their ability to form molecular inclusion complexes with drug substances, will affect many
of the physicochemical properties of the drugs without affecting their vital pharmacological properties
[6,7]. Due to the availability, cost and cavity dimensions the parent β cyclodextrin (βCD) is the most
extensively used [11,12]. Complexation efficiency can be improved by the addition of small amounts
of a hydrophilic polymer to drug CD complexes. Formation of ternary complexes between the drug,
cyclodextrin and a third component of an aqueous complexation medium can increase the solubility,
bioavailability, palatability and stability constants of drug CD complexes [4,10,11]. Loratadine needs
enhancement of solubility and dissolution rate to improve its oral bioavailability and therapeutic
efficacy through formation of an inclusion complex with βCD and with and without hydrophilic
polymer. In the present work the synergistic effect of hydrophilic polymer polyvinyl pyrrolidone

Negative Essay On Kneeling
The National Football League is an organization governing one of America s four major sports,
football. Therefore, there are going to be controversial issues that come up quite frequently. One
example is the 1925 NFL champion, where it is recorded that the Cardinals won the championship, but
in reality, the Pottsville Maroons won with a score of 21 7. Other examples can range anywhere from
player conduct to coaching controversies. The most recent controversy started when Colin Kaepernick
kneeled during the national anthem to show respect for African Americans who were targeted by
police. In August 2016, Colin Kaepernick drastically transformed kneeling as a sign of respect to a
sign of protest.
Kneeling is a gesture in various situations that is used to show a sign of respect. It is defined as a
position in which the body is supported by a knee or the knees, as when praying or showing
submission. In a letter regarding kneeling, it discusses kneeling as reverence; for instance when
kneeling before one s king or before one s god (Hamant, 2017). Kneeling has been used for many
years to show submission to one of higher authority, especially kings. People use kneeling to
acknowledge someone with a higher power. It is used quite frequently in the Catholic Church when
they are praying or partaking in mass. In an article on why Catholics kneel, sit, and stand, K. Albert
Little tells her story of how she became Catholic. She said that they kneel at mass because, by

Literary Fiction Analysis
In the world of literature, fiction is often used to portray an entertaining story of a story they have a
greater meaning to itself. There are two types of fiction Each of these stories falls on, which are
commercial fiction, use to entertain us, as it tends to contain a setting that is easy to understand and a
plot that is very distinct. This type of fiction is merely for enjoyment and doesn t have any deeper
meaning to the story. In contrast with literary fiction where the stories is more character driven as we
focus more on their minds and emotions, it contains a plot that usually underlines a social or cultural
thread that impacts the story, however, is less obvious. When the audience reads these type of stories a

Another aspect that shows its commercial fiction is the details of the protagonist which is Rainford
who we find our has a vast experience on hunting I ve read your book about the hunting snow
leopards in Tibet, you see (pg 72) as well once he was being hunted by Zaroff he had used tactics to
kill him ... native trick he had learned in Uganda. which gave Rainsford an advantage toward his
opponent when it comes to hunting. The story is seen as commercial fiction because it is a book that is
ment to grab our attention and entertain the reader.
The only literary fiction out of the three stories is Hunters in the Snow by Tobias Wolff s which
follows three men Tubs, Kenny, and Francis who decide to go hunting in the winter. The plot of the
story isn t as obvious compared to commercial fiction, we are put in the thought that these three men
are going to hunt for deer, but in reality, they are men lost trying to find a solution towards their
problem. Kenny can be seen as someone who wants to be feared and wants power as we see when
they go and pick up Tubs The truck jumped the curb and kept coming, half on the street and half on
the sidewalk (pg 86) which was heading straight towards him, until Tubs moved out of the way. As

Lord Of The Flies Identity Quotes
This mask depicts Jack s identity from the book Lord of the Flies. Starting from the bottom of the
mask, there is a quote from Jack which is one of the last things he says before leaving Ralph s group: I
m not going to play any longer. Not with you . This quote is significant to Jack because not only does
it show the end of the impact on Jack that the tamed and edified society Ralph has developed, it shows
how childish he is. Before Jack says this, he puts Ralph s conch on the grass in front of him and cries.
His tears are described as humiliating , which shows how he is unfit to be a good ruler because he is
leaving Ralph s civilization and crying about it because it is not run the way he wants to be run. He
proves to be a leader to the boys as they join him, but not one that is connected to civilization ... Show

Jack ideas connect to anarchy because he is the first person to openly speak out and take action against
the way that Ralph s civilization was run. To the left and right of the anarchy symbol are the words
The beast and Fear . These are symbolic to Jack and how he is able to keep power and influence on the
boys after he starts his own civilization. Jack uses the idea of the beast to make the boys blindly
follow him since he makes them believe that he has the power to hunt down and kill the beast, even
though there actually is no beast. Above the word The beast is the word Murder . This directly
references the murder of Simon that Jack is responsible for because he used the fear of the beast to
make the boys kill Simon, which Jack uses to take control of almost all the boys in the book as well.
To the right, the words The Bad Chief are shown to reference the evil that controls Jack when he leads
the boys. Those four words are positioned diagonally striped to reference the figurative mask that Jack

Importance Of Sexuality In Peter Pan
Sexuality is the quality or state of being sexual. Throughout history, sexuality has been known as a
taboo and something that wasn t talked about openly. In the modern society sexuality has become
widely accepted and a child s action to learn about sexuality is just another step of discovering who
they are. Children start puberty around the ages of eight to thirteen, around this time in a child s life
they start to feel things for members of the opposite sex that they have never felt before. Sexuality has
always been looked at as a grown up idea and one never really considers the effect that sexuality has
forcing one to grow up. Due to sexuality s grown up aspect, when thinking about Peter Pan written by
J.M Barrie, sexuality is a looked over characteristic of the well know fairy tale.
Firstly, the reader is introduced to how sexuality helps to tell the fairy tale Peter Pan, by bringing out
the jealousy of the mermaids in Never Land. When Wendy first arrives in Never Land she is so
amazed by the different types of creatures there. Wendy finds herself at the Mermaid Lagoon with
Peter. The Mermaids get so excited to see Peter quickly showing the reader their interest in him when
one mermaid says, Why were you gone so long? Didn t you miss me? (Peter Pan. J.M Barrie.8). When
the Mermaids realize that Peter is not alone they quickly start asking Peter who Wendy is and why he
brought her there. In this chapter the reader is introduced to one of the many examples of the Electra
complex developed by Freud Oedepus. Freud states that there is a little part of every girl that wishes
harm on other girls that show interest in the boy the girl in attracted to. This
Farias 2 is shown during this chapter as the mermaid attempt to drag Wendy into the Lagoon by her
dress. Wendy threatens to get back to at the mermaids by picking up a sea shell and saying, if you dare
take one more step near me.. , ( Barrie.8). Before Wendy gets a chance to defend herself Peter quickly
intervenes telling Wendy that the mermaids were just joking around. Proven by one of the mermaids
saying, Yeah we were just trying to drown her , (Barrie.8 ). Barrie introduces sexuality in may
different ways throughout Peter Pan, using the Electra

Apple and Their Innovations
Apple is referred to as the brand of innovation. It is known as a leading innovator which uses its brand
name, friendly interface and it design to reinvent and grow product into new or existing market. They
created the first smartphone back in 2007 and it was seen as the best information system created since
the mobile phone. There are many lessons that we learned from apple business model. The first one is
that Apple is no longer a product business but it is more about a platform business even though many
people see apple dependent on their bestseller the Iphone. The continuous development of the
platform potential is where the leadership of apple lies. For instance, the Iphone design didn t change
much since its launch but the hardware component are changing constantly as we can see in the
Iphone 5S where the major change is the A7 new chips and the capacity of displaying at 64 bits
instead of the 32 bits used by all its competitors. This strategy is very good for any company
competing in the technological industry as it helps focus more on their business transformation and
hardware innovation. For instance, Apple is building around its ecosystems and platforms all its
revenue streams, the different products in the chain and the different services they offer.
The second important innovation of Apple is their focus on product design. As we know design is a
necessity in a fierce market. However, it is not always seen as a success ingredient but more as a
commodity. For

Spirituality In The Ten Principal Virtues Of The Blessed...
One of the ten principal virtues of the Blessed Virgin Mary is continual mental prayer. During her life,
the Blessed Mother was constantly in tune with God s will. Every morning she woke up thinking
about God, she thought about Him continually throughout the day, and she went to bed thinking about
Him. She was the new Eve, who possessed the same preternatural gifts that Adam and Eve possessed
before they sinned.
As a reminder, in addition to an immortal soul, God gave our first parents, Adam and Eve, the
preternatural gifts of integrity, bodily immortality, and infused knowledge. The definition of
preternatural is that which is beyond the natural but is not strictly supernatural.
The preternatural gift of integrity (the absence of concupiscence) gave Adam and Eve the natural
ability to control their desires and passions. Although they could be tempted from outside forces, they
could not be tempted from within. The preternatural gift of bodily immortality meant that Adam and
Eve possessed bodies that would never die. The preternatural gift of infused knowledge meant that
they did not have to study, work, or sacrifice to obtain knowledge. They were created with some
knowledge of God and complete knowledge of the secular world.
It was the first sin of Adam and Eve that destroyed the preternatural gifts of integrity, bodily
immortality, and infused knowledge. From then on, every person who has come into existence has
been conceived without the preternatural gifts, except for

Class Differences In Education Since 1918
How have class and gender affected educational experiences since 1918, and has this changed over
time?
In 1917, during a speech at Newcastle, English historian, educator and politician H. A. L. Fisher
argued that Education was an important tool in creating a harmonious and equitable society; a society
free from class preconceptions and bias. Fisher stated, Education dispels the hideous clouds of class
suspicion and softens the asperities of faction (cited in Simon, 1965, p. 344). In the same year,
members of the Workers Educational Association (WEA) made a statement declaring their wish to
eliminate inequalities within higher education, stating that they are united in the desire to bring within
reach [...] the Higher Education which has hitherto been too much the privilege of the few (Reported
in The Highway, February 1917, cited in Simon, 1965, p. 329). Yet, for the next fifty years, the class
division, factions and inequalities noted in 1917 by Fisher and the WEA would continue to permeate
the English education system, with social class and gender continuing to shape educational
experiences. Considering this, this essay will explore how issues of class and gender have affected
educational experiences in the years since 1918, with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of William Du Bois s The Soul Of The Black Folk...
Historiography has changed immensely since the beginning of the historian profession. Times of
conflict can result in the approaches of historiography changing in a short period. By the end of the
nineteenth century, he writing of American history had changed from consensus to progressivism. This
opened up a new form of writing and opportunities to include different approaches or fields, such as
science, economics, political science, and sociology, to help the understanding of the topic. In 1903,
William Du Bois, influenced by Pragmatism, wrote about the Civil War and how it was a result of
economic and social factors of African Americans in his book The Soul of the Black Folk. Then,
Charles and Mary Beard wrote The Rise of American Civilization in 1927, reconsidering and adding
economic factors and the inclusion of women s roles into the history of the American Revolution.
Then, after the Second World War, the critical approach was seen as insulting, and historians started to
take a consensus approach again. One of the most influential consensus historians of this time was
Daniel Boorstin, who wrote The Genius of American Politics . This book helped explain the American
Revolution as a means of theory failure by showing how liberal also known as progressive historians
exaggerate on certain events or people that impacted the American Revolution, such as the Declaration
of Independence and Thomas Jefferson. He sees the American Revolution results were a positive

Aristophanes View Of Love
Our human nature was not what we always thought of it to be, in simpler times two were made as one.
We roamed the earth in unity with our other halves without the burden of trying to find them.
However, Zeus did not find this to be in his best interest because of how we behaved so he split each
being in two. As a result of this split we must now go about our lives in search of our other half. This
is the speech that Aristophanes gave in Plato s Symposium a book composed of various speeches from
many different famous Greek people. Aristophanes view of love is compelling because it describes our
very human nature to find our love, it justifies the reasoning of why there are different sexualities, and
it gives an explanation as to why our bodies are the way that they are today. The main idea of
Aristophanes speech is that humans were not the way that they are today mentally, physically or
emotionally. Each of us, then, is a matching half of a human whole, because each was sliced like a
flatfish, two out of one, and each of us is always seeking the half that matches him (p.27, 191E). What
is most compelling about this is that here Aristophanes explains the yearning that people have for love
in their lives. Due to this split many may feel as if a piece of them is missing and they may only find it
once they find that person who they were once in union with. As stated previously this is where
Aristophanes puts into perspective the notion that everyone truly has their other

Human Trafficking And The Economic Sphere
Critically analyze the development of human trafficking and its connections to the legitimate
economic sphere. To what extent is this market a result of global structural conditions?
In recent years, due to the threat it poses to human security, human trafficking has been identified as
one of the major and fast growing transnational problems. It is also perceived as a form of modern
slavery and one of the greatest human rights challenges of our times. Therefore, tackling human
trafficking is highly prioritized in many countries (European Commission, 2009). In the last 20 years
the occurrence of human trafficking has dramatically increased, and trade in human beings has
become one large part of the illicit global economy. Many criminals see this type of transnational
crime as a low risk high reward crime, and this may be one of the reasons why they show a preference
for it (Lee, 2007). The United Nations Protocol to Prevent, Suppress, and Punish Trafficking in
Persons, also known as the Palermo Protocol, adopted in 2000 defines human trafficking as: The
recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons, by means of threat or use of
force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a

The Theme of Lord of the Flies Essay
When a group of children become stranded on a deserted island, the rules of society no longer apply to
them. Without the supervision of their parents or of the law, the primitive nature of the boys surfaces.
Consequently, the boys live without luxury that could have been obtained had they maintained a
society on the island. Instead, these young boys take advantage of their freedom, and life as they knew
it deteriorates. Lord of the Flies is influenced by the author s life and experiences. Golding s outlook
on life changes, due to his heavy involvement in W.W.II, to his current philosophy that quot; The shape
of society must depend on the ethical nature of the individual, and not on any political system ... Show

A rule is made that the boys will work as a group to build the huts for protection from weather and to
act as a home for the littl uns. The boys ignore the task and become preoccupied with hunting,
swimming and eating, leaving the huts unfinished and rank. Therefore, the neglecting of the shelters is
an example of the deterioration of rules in the novel.
Deterioration is also shown when Jack alters the use of fire. The rule that Ralph, the leader, makes at
the beginning of the novel is that Jack and the other choir boys have a duty to keep the signal fire
going at all times. When a ship passes, Ralph is enraged to find that Jack let the fire burn out; Jack
breaks his promise and the rule. As a result, the boys on the island are unnoticed and fail to be rescued
by the ship; there is no fire smoke to signal it. Although the intentions of the fire are good, Jack causes
chaos when he uses it against Ralph. At the end of the novel Jack sets the whole island on fire in order
to kill Ralph. quot; They had smoked him out and set the whole island on fire quot; (Golding, p.197).
The fire that at one point symbolizes hope, has now turned to destruction. When the savage instincts
are controlled by civilization it leads to good, but when they are out of control it leads to evil. Thus,
Jack abuses the advantage of fire and his actions contribute the deterioration of rules.
The final, and perhaps the most

`` Moral Machines `` By Robert J. Sawyer And Gary Marcus
Myths are a good representation of how technology works in a society. This is due to their valuable
lessons which relate the impact of technological history on society over a period of time. Two authors
by the names of Robert J. Sawyer and Gary Marcus elaborate the connection between science fiction
and ethics to technology which compares to Prometheus s myth. Sawyer explains the relationship in
her essay The Purpose of Science Fiction in which he justifies that science fiction can portray the
outcomes of future technology. Marcus justifies this connection in his essay Moral Machines when he
describes how automated machinery should include ethical moralities in reference to how they are
being used in real life scenarios. Sawyer and Marcus reveal the relationship of science fiction and
ethics to technology which relates to the themes of Prometheus through science fiction and ethical
motives. Prometheus was well known for giving the human race the gift of fire. He delivered fire to
the world by stealing it from Zeus due to a conflict between the two. Prometheus was punished for his
wrongdoing in which Zeus chained Prometheus to a boulder so an eagle would come to eat his liver
every day. Prometheus s actions can represent a theme of progress in which he helps humans proceed
around nature s boundaries. Humans encounter obstacles in their lives to achieve a better life and live
comfortably, but the fire is the stepping stone to human success. Prometheus s gift to the world

to change. The mezzo system is an area of focus seeing that the targeted behavior could be a response
to the environment and other surroundings. The immediate conditions (reinforcements in the
environment) contribute to the current situation (maladaptive behavior). If the behavior is abnormal
and is negatively effecting client functioning it is important to further explore. Although, past history
can play a part in determining current factors involved in the behavior (Behavior Modification, n.d.).
As mentioned previously client functioning is of concern for behavior modification during assessment.
Additionally, client functioning in context or clients functioning in each situation is another area of
focus. When does, the targeted behavior occur and when does it not is of interest when beginning the
assessment. Along with that the social worker is curious to know if there is a specific pattern that is
tied to the behavior. Within each environment, how the client behaves and how the client is influenced
is a emphasized during assessment. A detailed data collection of the behavior is needed, such as
frequency, duration, and intensity (Sheafor Horejsi, 2012). To do this the social worker could use self
reports, role playing, and information from family and friends

Implementing The Tax System Classification Rules
On December 17, 1996, the Department of the Treasury (Treasury) finalized rules that were intended
to simplify the tax entity classification rules. These rules have become known as the check the box
regulations. Simply put, these regulations allow an eligible entity to check a box that indicates the
desired tax treatment the entity wishes to have. These new regulations signify what was a much
needed departure from the previous classification regulations, which were vague, ambiguous, and
created many disputes between taxpayers and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This simplification
of the entity classification rules would make it easier for such entities to gain their desired tax
treatment, which allows those entities to focus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These new rules replace the Kintner test, which will be analyzed later in this paper. To fully
understand the effects that CTB rules have on entities tax rates, it is important to understand the
complexities of Regulation 301.7703.
Explanation of Regulation 301.7703 3
As previously mentioned, any business entity that is not required to be treated as a corporation may
choose its own classification. An entity may choose to have all of the beneficial characteristics as a
corporation, but to avoid double taxation, they may choose to be taxed as a partnership. An entity with
two or more members can be classified either as a partnership or as an association, which is taxed as a
corporation. An entity with only one member has an option to be taxed as a corporation or can choose
to be disregarded as an entity separate from its owner. That entity cannot choose partnership
classification because a partnership, by definition, has two or more partners. A disregarded entity is a
business entity with one owner that is not recognized for tax purposes as an entity separate from its
owner. Therefore, the taxpayer is treated as a sole proprietorship and the individual must report all
income and losses on their own tax return.
Foreign business organizations are categorized by default classifications and must elect to be taxed
differently on Form 8832, same as domestic entities. A foreign business entity where all owners have
limited liability will be treated as a

The Late Twentieth Century
The 20th century have seen more scientific and technological progress than all the other centuries. The
20th century saw a major change in the way people saw the nation with changes in economy, politics,
ideology, culture, society, technology, medicine and science. The backdrop of the last half of the 20th
century was the World War II. In the Late twentieth century, the world has become socially
standardized with the developments of communication technology and transportation. By the end of
the twentieth centuries, many non cold war events occurred. For example, the decolonization of
Southeast Asia and Africa, emergence of china as a global power, perpetual volatility of the Middle
East, global terrorism, and economic and environmental issues. By the end of World War II, many
nations in Africa and Asia gained independence from European imperialists. This was known as
decolonization. African and Asians used variety of elements in their efforts to gain independence.

The Negative Consequences Of Technology For Children
Often iPads, tablets, and smartphones are thought of the world s greatest advancement. Who, in the
1980s, would have thought that they would be able to carry their phones out of their houses and use a
hand held rectangular device in which not only can make calls, but also be operated as GPS,
calculators, games and infinite amounts of different features. Of course, like everything in the world,
exploiting the use will result in negative outcomes. Parents are utilizing technology as a form of
disciplining their kids in which is only leading to isolation. Instead, parents should wait until children
are better prepared to be given such responsibility. Phones, iPads, tablets, iPods, laptops, computers all
facilitate everyday life. Computers become a necessity in a couple of jobs; keeping files, research,
reminders, etc. Multiple, effective applications of such technology can be set in place, however, that is
not what is being done. Parents are giving children such elaborate devices for absolutely the most
unreasonable intentions. Kids merely entertain themselves for far too long, which transforms into
isolation. Unknowingly growing separated from educational value, friends, and family. For future
generations only disaster emerges, but there is still a way that this can be retained from happening and
involvement of parental help is required. As technology grows, children s ability to learn shrinks.

The Unnatural Institution
Slavery has been a correlating characteristic among all major civilizations. The Sumerians made those
they conquered their slaves, and used them for manual labor. The Egyptians made their slaves build
large extravagant tombs for the pharos. Romans also forced those they capture into servitude, but the
Romans also turned slavery into a commodity which allowed it to be capitalized. There where laws
that allowed a father to sell his child in to slavery. The development of all of the great ancient cities
has been on the foundation of slavery. Jurist Gaius wrote Slavery is a human Invention and not found

And you who are so busy in making that division of the captives, look with pity upon so much misery
(Yazawa Pg. 19), this statement expresses how one Portuguese seaman felt when loading up the
captured slaves. He lets the reader know that he is feeling compassion for these slaves. Empathizing
and sympathizing is natural, extended exposure to these slave trades would leave the sailors stripped
of these natural feelings. In My Bondage My Freedom, Douglass tells us that Mrs. Auld was teaching
him how to read until her husband found out. Her husband had informed her that this boy was not a
boy but property, and if educated could cause problems. After that discussion she ignored her
nurturing, motherly instincts and would treat and look at Douglass in distain. The last group that is
affected by slavery is those in which do not own slaves and are not a slave themselves. Initially one
would assume that there would be no correlation to the cause and effect of slavery to this particular
group of individuals, but in fact there is. Slavery being cheap labor is not free labor. In slavery there is
a financial cost expended by the slave holder. This cost is induced through food, housing and more
importantly training and tools to complete production. The slaves were trained in handling tools to
complete tasks. Many of the non slave owners did not have

The Unnatural History Of The Sea
On The Unnatural History of the Sea Callum Roberts set himself the difficult task of cataloguing
evidence that today s oceans are depleted and struggling against overfishing and human influence,
while still remaining optimistic about the future of the world s oceans in his book The Unnatural
History of the Sea. Roberts begins by painting a picture of the oceans as they may have been before
human influence had drastically depleted species and changed ecosystems through fishing. From this
point, he maps out centuries of development in fishing and shows how drastically changed and
depleted the world s oceans are today because of human exploitation. With the explanation of modern
day fishery policy and a strong case against the practice of trawling, Roberts shows how humanity
continues to exploit the ocean as if it were an endless resource. In spite of all this, the author, in the
end, attempts to develop a positive outlook by explaining what can be done to stop the rapid
decimation of fisheries, including reevaluation of fishery regulations and development of marine
reserves. Historical accounts of abundant fisheries can clearly show the phenomenon of shifting
baselines when compared to what we observe in our oceans today. Roberts argues for Pauly s shifting
baseline theory and provides strong evidence supporting its existence. In order to stop historical
amnesia and the attitude that the ocean is an endless resource, we must be able to understand how we

Have you ever thought about what community service would do for your community or the
community of others? Or at least thought of the impact that it could have on not only you , but others
as well? Community Service or volunteering has a certain importance to it. Community service is
helpful when trying to build or better a community for not only those in the community but you as
well. By volunteering people gain compassion and understanding of the world around them. When
people volunteer, they usually volunteer in a project that they re really passionate about, which gives
them the opportunity to volunteer with as much time that is available. Community service is way to
bring a nation together. It is like the key point of a country, as there is a great amount of importance of
doing good for others. Community service is a handy service because it is the best way to create a
sense of responsibility to people. With so many things going wrong in the world today, normal
everyday people have the opportunity to fulfill a sense of purpose and they have the chance to make
their world a better place.
Community service is not only fun and rewarding experience, it also looks good really good on a
resume. By people stepping up to volunteer, it gives them a great sense of newfound purpose as well.

Howard Phillips Lovecraft
Every once and a while a story comes out that makes everyone stop. They reevaluate how they see
things, how they see a whole genre after reading something. This incredible phenomenon is what

Lovecraft s works are very influential and can still be seen in works today. He created a whole sub
genre that sprouted a cult, movies were born from his ideas, and even videogames are blossoming

Something that s really big right now is Zombies and the whole Zombie concept. It s not uncommon

In the video The Confessions presented by Frontline, a murder of a women that was committed by one
man, quickly resulted into a false gang murder rape scene committed by eight men. The victim,
Michelle Bosko, was seen to be raped and killed in her apartment in Norfolk, Virginia. From the
video, it has been proven that seven out of the eight men that confessed were innocent, but somehow
they all received an unequal punishment. Because the innocent men admitted to a murder that they
didn t commit out of fear, they were all sentenced to some time in prison. The head detective, Glenn

or they told him every detail that he wanted to hear. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fact that Ford had to men so afraid disturbs me because I never knew that someone could make up
an entire lie of something that never happened. But because they are afraid, they are able to picture
themselves in a crime scene that they were nowhere near. Though the results of the lie detector tests
that were taken by all of the men were never explained or read to them, the police made the men think
that they failed the polygraph test even though they passed it. In a recent interview that Ballard gave
from prison, he tells Frontline that he committed the murder all by himself and that he understands
why the men committed to a murder that they didn t commit. He understood that he men confessed out
of fear and said anything just so that Ford would get out of their faces. Even after the murder and the
men were seem as not guilty, they still had to face circumstances in their outside worlds. The men
were now considered as sex offenders and it was hard for them to get a good job because of their
background. Every year, the men have to register as a sex offender due to the fact that they gave false
confessions out of intimidation. At the end however, Glenn Ford was indicted for receiving money
from defendants in exchange for a better treatment in prison. Although the men didn t get the justice
they needed right away, their lawyers were not finished with the case and they were soon to get them

Esperanza Rising Character Analysis
Everybody has difficulties in their lives that change them in some way, shape, or form. When a person
experiences these difficulties; It can cause them to shift their outlook on certain things and/or cause
changes in character. This is certainly the case when it comes to Esperanza Ortega. She is the main
character in Esperanza Rising. Esperanza 13 years old and lives in El Rancho de las Rosas. She is the
only daughter of a very wealthy rancher. Esperanza is forced to leave her perfect life due to the murder
of her father. She comes to California and becomes a peasant worker. This journey causes Esperanza
to change in many different ways.
The first way that Esperanza changes involves the change of her attitude. She is initially very selfish
and quite arrogant. The transition that she goes through ends up causing her to be more of a kind
person. She is also very generous to everyone around. Before she made this change, her selfishness
was very obvious. This was evident when she was traveling to California with her mother. She did not
want to be in the cheap section of the train where peasants travel. Esperanza goes on to say, We cannot
travel in this car. (Munoz Ryan) She really does come off quite arrogant. Her selfishness is also very
evident when she is getting on the train. Esperanza is holding her doll and a girl named Mona,
daughter of a peasant, wants to hold her doll. She would not even allow the girl to touch the doll.

There Should Be Guidelines To Human Experimentation
The modern understanding of medicine was created by the many people who were subjected to
medical testing without their consent. There should be guidelines to human experimentation. Human
experimentation should only be performed on consenting adults that understand what is going to
happen. In other words, the doctors should get informed consent from their patients. There have been
many unethical human experimental trials performed on people that had no idea what was happening
to them. This is unethical and very dangerous for the people. There also have been different guidelines
and codes for human experimentation, such as the Nuremberg Code and the Declaration of Helsinki.
An example of such unethical human experimentation is The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment. This
happened in Alabama and was performed by the U.S government in 1932. The men that were in the
trial were given free health care, meals and burial insurance. 399 men had syphilis beforehand and 201

Economics of Carbon Emissions and Climate Change
Economics of Carbon Emissions and Climate Change The economics of climate change is a very
controversial and disputed. To even discuss what should be done economists have to either state
whether or not global warming and climate change exist. According to the CATO article, Climate
Change vs. Climate Models (Michaels and Knappenberger, 2013), The models estimate of the increase
in temperature resulting from a doubling of carbon dioxide concentration may simply be too high. As
questioned in the article, is there such thing as climate change? Next, if climate change does exist, are
carbon emissions a relevant cause of such a phenomena? With all of these questions at hand, how do
we deal or cope with the current environmental state through economic means? Does climate change
exist? According to the U.S. Global Research Program (USGRP), climate change does exist. Not in
the sense of immediate and drastic changes in the climate, but a gradual fluctuation in temperatures
that have been gathered since the early 1900 s. The empirical data that has been gathered shows a
steady increase in the mean maximum temperature recorded in the Canadian Climate Change Model
which is the basis on the 2000 U.S. National Assessment of Climate Change. The original model
generated had a sine like pattern with a .342°C difference between the highest crest and lowest trough.
This was then proven an unworthy model when the actual empirical data was recorded with a .169°C

The Relationship Between Race And Educational Expectations...
This bibliography is a collection of articles that illustrate the story of Cape Town, South Africa,
namely, that race considerations in one fashion or another permeate every facet and corner of the
country s life. It appears almost impossible for South Africans of any color ever to get away, or to
remove themselves, from this issue, although obviously the reality of race relations does not bear on
all groups equally or in exactly the same manner. Sadly, these same issues are a problem within the
United States as well. Although there are currently no peer reviewed articles regarding this same topic
within places like Ferguson, Missouri, more research is warranted for a closer look at race relations in
these areas.
Education
This study examined the relationship between race and educational expectations between parents and
their children. Specifically, a longitudinal data set focused on educational expectations among black
(African), colored (mixed) and white (European ancestry) parents and their children in Cape Town,
South Africa. Researchers found that there is a strong relationship between the educational expectation
among parents and children regardless of race, although the black parents and children had higher
expectations than the other races, once socioeconomic factors were controlled for. Also, parents and
children tend to agree more about the expectations and have a stronger correlation to the white and
colored races. They suggest that this is due to the desire for

Metaphors In The Glass Castle
The Glass Castle is a memoir of Jeannette Walls experience and her tempestuous upbringing. Her
father was a charismatic and intelligent man, but when he drank he was dishonest and couldn t hold a
job. Their mother was a free spirit who felt confined by the responsibilities of motherhood, and sought
refuge in her blind optimism. Without steady parental figures, Jeannette and her siblings turned to
each other for support. Eventually, they made their way to New York to build lives for themselves.
Their parents followed, choosing to be homeless. The novel is latent with metaphors, the biggest one
being the title itself. The Glass Castle is an idea cooked up by her father, a luxurious structure in the
desert that runs on solar panels. He carries around blueprints for it, and while living in Welch,
Jeannette and her brother actually dig a large hole for the foundation. However, Jeannette is struck
with the reality that the Glass Castle will never come to be when her father tells her to throw their
accumulating garbage into the hole meant intended for it s foundation, since he can t afford the trash
collection fee. As Jeanette nears adulthood and her plans to follow her sister to New York inch closer,
she tells her father, Go ahead and build the Glass Castle, but don t do it for me (Walls 238). This is a
turning point for her, because she lets go of the Glass Castle, a symbol of her father s empty promises
and illusions, to move away and better herself. Another huge symbol

expressed as mellow and miserable. She is miserable and sad because she is most likely stuck in her

about it every single day and she cannot get rid of it. Her unhappiness is caused by her lack of

entire world. The terrorist group of ISIS is the biggest and most widely known terrorist group recently.
One of the biggest controversial arguments today is if the United States should go to war with terrorist
groups such as ISIS and others. I believe that the best solution to this argument is to not go to war with
terrorist groups or ISIS just yet. Within the past couple of years, the terrorist group of ISIS has made

One of the biggest controversial arguments currently has to do with the United States going to war

There are many different ideas of what a creek is. In order to gain a factual understanding of what a creek essentially is, the dictionary definition of, a natural stream of water normally smaller than and often tributary to a river can be examined (Merrian Webster). In addition to this, National Geographic defines a creed as simply, any body of flowing fluid (National Geographic). Creeks can vary greatly in size and are shaped by its surrounding geography. Due to the availability, cost and cavity dimensions the parent β cyclodextrin (βCD) is the most extensively used [11,12]. Complexation efficiency can be improved by the addition of small amounts of a hydrophilic polymer to drug CD complexes. Formation of ternary complexes between the drug, cyclodextrin and a third component of an aqueous complexation medium can increase the solubility, bioavailability, palatability and stability constants of drug CD complexes [4,10,11]. Loratadine needs enhancement of solubility and dissolution rate to improve its oral bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy through formation of an inclusion complex with βCD and with and without hydrophilic polymer. • 5. Negative Essay On Kneeling The National Football League is an organization governing one of America s four major sports, football. Therefore, there are going to be controversial issues that come up quite frequently. One example is the 1925 NFL champion, where it is recorded that the Cardinals won the championship, but in reality, the Pottsville Maroons won with a score of 21 7. Other examples can range anywhere from player conduct to coaching controversies. The most recent controversy started when Colin Kaepernick kneeled during the national anthem to show respect for African Americans who were targeted by police. In August 2016, Colin Kaepernick drastically transformed kneeling as a sign of respect to a sign of protest. Kneeling is a gesture in various situations that is used to show a sign of respect. It is defined as a position in which the body is supported by a knee or the knees, as when praying or showing submission. In a letter regarding kneeling, it discusses kneeling as reverence; for instance when kneeling before one s king or before one s god (Hamant, 2017). Kneeling has been used for many years to show submission to one of higher authority, especially kings. People use kneeling to acknowledge someone with a higher power. Starting from the bottom of the mask, there is a quote from Jack which is one of the last things he says before leaving Ralph s group: I m not going to play any longer. Not with you . This quote is significant to Jack because not only does it show the end of the impact on Jack that the tamed and edified society Ralph has developed, it shows how childish he is. Before Jack says this, he puts Ralph s conch on the grass in front of him and cries. His tears are described as humiliating , which shows how he is unfit to be a good ruler because he is leaving Ralph s civilization and crying about it because it is not run the way he wants to be run. Jack uses the idea of the beast to make the boys blindly follow him since he makes them believe that he has the power to hunt down and kill the beast, even though there actually is no beast. Above the word The beast is the word Murder . This directly references the murder of Simon that Jack is responsible for because he used the fear of the beast to make the boys kill Simon, which Jack uses to take control of almost all the boys in the book as well. • 8. Importance Of Sexuality In Peter Pan Sexuality is the quality or state of being sexual. Throughout history, sexuality has been known as a taboo and something that wasn t talked about openly. In the modern society sexuality has become widely accepted and a child s action to learn about sexuality is just another step of discovering who they are. Children start puberty around the ages of eight to thirteen, around this time in a child s life they start to feel things for members of the opposite sex that they have never felt before. Sexuality has always been looked at as a grown up idea and one never really considers the effect that sexuality has forcing one to grow up. Due to sexuality s grown up aspect, when thinking about Peter Pan written by J.M Barrie, sexuality is a looked over characteristic of the well know fairy tale. Firstly, the reader is introduced to how sexuality helps to tell the fairy tale Peter Pan, by bringing out the jealousy of the mermaids in Never Land. When Wendy first arrives in Never Land she is so amazed by the different types of creatures there. Wendy finds herself at the Mermaid Lagoon with Peter. The Mermaids get so excited to see Peter quickly showing the reader their interest in him when one mermaid says, Why were you gone so long? Didn t you miss me? (Peter Pan. J.M Barrie.8). When the Mermaids realize that Peter is not alone they quickly start asking Peter who Wendy is and why he brought her there. In this chapter the reader is introduced to one of the many examples of the Electra complex developed by Freud Oedepus. Freud states that there is a little part of every girl that wishes harm on other girls that show interest in the boy the girl in attracted to. This Farias 2 is shown during this chapter as the mermaid attempt to drag Wendy into the Lagoon by her dress. Wendy threatens to get back to at the mermaids by picking up a sea shell and saying, if you dare take one more step near me.. , ( Barrie.8). Before Wendy gets a chance to defend herself Peter quickly intervenes telling Wendy that the mermaids were just joking around. Proven by one of the mermaids saying, Yeah we were just trying to drown her , (Barrie.8 ). Barrie introduces sexuality in may different ways throughout Peter Pan, using the Electra ... It is known as a leading innovator which uses its brand name, friendly interface and it design to reinvent and grow product into new or existing market. They created the first smartphone back in 2007 and it was seen as the best information system created since the mobile phone. There are many lessons that we learned from apple business model. The first one is that Apple is no longer a product business but it is more about a platform business even though many people see apple dependent on their bestseller the Iphone. The continuous development of the platform potential is where the leadership of apple lies. For instance, the Iphone design didn t change much since its launch but the hardware component are changing constantly as we can see in the Iphone 5S where the major change is the A7 new chips and the capacity of displaying at 64 bits instead of the 32 bits used by all its competitors. This strategy is very good for any company competing in the technological industry as it helps focus more on their business transformation and hardware innovation. For instance, Apple is building around its ecosystems and platforms all its revenue streams, the different products in the chain and the different services they offer. The second important innovation of Apple is their focus on product design. As we know design is a necessity in a fierce market. • 11. Spirituality In The Ten Principal Virtues Of The Blessed... One of the ten principal virtues of the Blessed Virgin Mary is continual mental prayer. During her life, the Blessed Mother was constantly in tune with God s will. Every morning she woke up thinking about God, she thought about Him continually throughout the day, and she went to bed thinking about Him. She was the new Eve, who possessed the same preternatural gifts that Adam and Eve possessed before they sinned. As a reminder, in addition to an immortal soul, God gave our first parents, Adam and Eve, the preternatural gifts of integrity, bodily immortality, and infused knowledge. The definition of preternatural is that which is beyond the natural but is not strictly supernatural. The preternatural gift of integrity (the absence of concupiscence) gave Adam and Eve the natural ability to control their desires and passions. Although they could be tempted from outside forces, they could not be tempted from within. The preternatural gift of bodily immortality meant that Adam and Eve possessed bodies that would never die. The preternatural gift of infused knowledge meant that they did not have to study, work, or sacrifice to obtain knowledge. They were created with some knowledge of God and complete knowledge of the secular world. It was the first sin of Adam and Eve that destroyed the preternatural gifts of integrity, bodily immortality, and infused knowledge. • 12. Class Differences In Education Since 1918 How have class and gender affected educational experiences since 1918, and has this changed over time? In 1917, during a speech at Newcastle, English historian, educator and politician H. A. L. Fisher argued that Education was an important tool in creating a harmonious and equitable society; a society free from class preconceptions and bias. Fisher stated, Education dispels the hideous clouds of class suspicion and softens the asperities of faction (cited in Simon, 1965, p. 344). In the same year, members of the Workers Educational Association (WEA) made a statement declaring their wish to eliminate inequalities within higher education, stating that they are united in the desire to bring within reach [...] the Higher Education which has hitherto been too much the privilege of the few (Reported in The Highway, February 1917, cited in Simon, 1965, p. 329). Yet, for the next fifty years, the class division, factions and inequalities noted in 1917 by Fisher and the WEA would continue to permeate the English education system, with social class and gender continuing to shape educational experiences. Times of conflict can result in the approaches of historiography changing in a short period. By the end of the nineteenth century, he writing of American history had changed from consensus to progressivism. This opened up a new form of writing and opportunities to include different approaches or fields, such as science, economics, political science, and sociology, to help the understanding of the topic. In 1903, William Du Bois, influenced by Pragmatism, wrote about the Civil War and how it was a result of economic and social factors of African Americans in his book The Soul of the Black Folk. Then, Charles and Mary Beard wrote The Rise of American Civilization in 1927, reconsidering and adding economic factors and the inclusion of women s roles into the history of the American Revolution. Then, after the Second World War, the critical approach was seen as insulting, and historians started to take a consensus approach again. One of the most influential consensus historians of this time was Daniel Boorstin, who wrote The Genius of American Politics . This book helped explain the American Revolution as a means of theory failure by showing how liberal also known as progressive historians exaggerate on certain events or people that impacted the American Revolution, such as the Declaration of Independence and Thomas Jefferson. • 16. Aristophanes View Of Love Our human nature was not what we always thought of it to be, in simpler times two were made as one. We roamed the earth in unity with our other halves without the burden of trying to find them. However, Zeus did not find this to be in his best interest because of how we behaved so he split each being in two. As a result of this split we must now go about our lives in search of our other half. This is the speech that Aristophanes gave in Plato s Symposium a book composed of various speeches from many different famous Greek people. Aristophanes view of love is compelling because it describes our very human nature to find our love, it justifies the reasoning of why there are different sexualities, and it gives an explanation as to why our bodies are the way that they are today. The main idea of Aristophanes speech is that humans were not the way that they are today mentally, physically or emotionally. Each of us, then, is a matching half of a human whole, because each was sliced like a flatfish, two out of one, and each of us is always seeking the half that matches him (p.27, 191E). What is most compelling about this is that here Aristophanes explains the yearning that people have for love in their lives. Due to this split many may feel as if a piece of them is missing and they may only find it once they find that person who they were once in union with. As stated previously this is where Aristophanes puts into perspective the notion that everyone truly has their other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To what extent is this market a result of global structural conditions? In recent years, due to the threat it poses to human security, human trafficking has been identified as one of the major and fast growing transnational problems. It is also perceived as a form of modern slavery and one of the greatest human rights challenges of our times. Therefore, tackling human trafficking is highly prioritized in many countries (European Commission, 2009). In the last 20 years the occurrence of human trafficking has dramatically increased, and trade in human beings has become one large part of the illicit global economy. Many criminals see this type of transnational crime as a low risk high reward crime, and this may be one of the reasons why they show a preference for it (Lee, 2007). The United Nations Protocol to Prevent, Suppress, and Punish Trafficking in Persons, also known as the Palermo Protocol, adopted in 2000 defines human trafficking as: The recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons, by means of threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation. Instead, these young boys take advantage of their freedom, and life as they knew it deteriorates. Lord of the Flies is influenced by the author s life and experiences. The boys ignore the task and become preoccupied with hunting, swimming and eating, leaving the huts unfinished and rank. Therefore, the neglecting of the shelters is an example of the deterioration of rules in the novel. Deterioration is also shown when Jack alters the use of fire. The rule that Ralph, the leader, makes at the beginning of the novel is that Jack and the other choir boys have a duty to keep the signal fire going at all times. When a ship passes, Ralph is enraged to find that Jack let the fire burn out; Jack breaks his promise and the rule. As a result, the boys on the island are unnoticed and fail to be rescued by the ship; there is no fire smoke to signal it. Although the intentions of the fire are good, Jack causes chaos when he uses it against Ralph. At the end of the novel Jack sets the whole island on fire in order to kill Ralph. quot; They had smoked him out and set the whole island on fire quot; (Golding, p.197). The fire that at one point symbolizes hope, has now turned to destruction. The immediate conditions (reinforcements in the environment) contribute to the current situation (maladaptive behavior). An entity may choose to have all of the beneficial characteristics as a corporation, but to avoid double taxation, they may choose to be taxed as a partnership. An entity with two or more members can be classified either as a partnership or as an association, which is taxed as a corporation. An entity with only one member has an option to be taxed as a corporation or can choose to be disregarded as an entity separate from its owner. That entity cannot choose partnership classification because a partnership, by definition, has two or more partners. A disregarded entity is a business entity with one owner that is not recognized for tax purposes as an entity separate from its owner. The Unnatural History Of The Sea On The Unnatural History of the Sea Callum Roberts set himself the difficult task of cataloguing evidence that today s oceans are depleted and struggling against overfishing and human influence, while still remaining optimistic about the future of the world s oceans in his book The Unnatural History of the Sea. Roberts begins by painting a picture of the oceans as they may have been before human influence had drastically depleted species and changed ecosystems through fishing. From this point, he maps out centuries of development in fishing and shows how drastically changed and depleted the world s oceans are today because of human exploitation. With the explanation of modern day fishery policy and a strong case against the practice of trawling, Roberts shows how humanity continues to exploit the ocean as if it were an endless resource. In spite of all this, the author, in the end, attempts to develop a positive outlook by explaining what can be done to stop the rapid decimation of fisheries, including reevaluation of fishery regulations and development of marine reserves. Historical accounts of abundant fisheries can clearly show the phenomenon of shifting baselines when compared to what we observe in our oceans today. • 32. There Should Be Guidelines To Human Experimentation The modern understanding of medicine was created by the many people who were subjected to medical testing without their consent. There should be guidelines to human experimentation. Human experimentation should only be performed on consenting adults that understand what is going to happen. In other words, the doctors should get informed consent from their patients. There have been many unethical human experimental trials performed on people that had no idea what was happening to them. This is unethical and very dangerous for the people. There also have been different guidelines and codes for human experimentation, such as the Nuremberg Code and the Declaration of Helsinki. An example of such unethical human experimentation is The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment. This happened in Alabama and was performed by the U.S government in 1932. The men that were in the trial were given free health care, meals and burial insurance. 399 men had syphilis beforehand and 201 did not. Funding was cut for the experiments but they still continued to study these men even though the antibiotic penicillin had come out in 1947. They told the men that they had something called bad blood and they refused to tell the men that they had syphilis. This trial was continued until 1972 when the ... • 35. Economics of Carbon Emissions and Climate Change Economics of Carbon Emissions and Climate Change The economics of climate change is a very controversial and disputed. To even discuss what should be done economists have to either state whether or not global warming and climate change exist. According to the CATO article, Climate Change vs. Climate Models (Michaels and Knappenberger, 2013), The models estimate of the increase in temperature resulting from a doubling of carbon dioxide concentration may simply be too high. As questioned in the article, is there such thing as climate change? Next, if climate change does exist, are carbon emissions a relevant cause of such a phenomena? With all of these questions at hand, how do we deal or cope with the current environmental state through economic means? Does climate change exist? According to the U.S. Global Research Program (USGRP), climate change does exist. Not in the sense of immediate and drastic changes in the climate, but a gradual fluctuation in temperatures that have been gathered since the early 1900 s. The empirical data that has been gathered shows a steady increase in the mean maximum temperature recorded in the Canadian Climate Change Model which is the basis on the 2000 U.S. National Assessment of Climate Change. The original model generated had a sine like pattern with a .342°C difference between the highest crest and lowest trough. This was then proven an unworthy model when the actual empirical data was recorded with a .169°C difference. There was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. The Relationship Between Race And Educational Expectations... This bibliography is a collection of articles that illustrate the story of Cape Town, South Africa, namely, that race considerations in one fashion or another permeate every facet and corner of the country s life. It appears almost impossible for South Africans of any color ever to get away, or to remove themselves, from this issue, although obviously the reality of race relations does not bear on all groups equally or in exactly the same manner. Sadly, these same issues are a problem within the United States as well. Although there are currently no peer reviewed articles regarding this same topic within places like Ferguson, Missouri, more research is warranted for a closer look at race relations in these areas. Education This study examined the relationship between race and educational expectations between parents and their children. Specifically, a longitudinal data set focused on educational expectations among black (African), colored (mixed) and white (European ancestry) parents and their children in Cape Town, South Africa. Researchers found that there is a strong relationship between the educational expectation among parents and children regardless of race, although the black parents and children had higher expectations than the other races, once socioeconomic factors were controlled for. Also, parents and children tend to agree more about the expectations and have a stronger correlation to the white and colored races. They suggest that this is due to the desire for ... Without steady parental figures, Jeannette and her siblings turned to each other for support. Eventually, they made their way to New York to build lives for themselves. Their parents followed, choosing to be homeless. The novel is latent with metaphors, the biggest one being the title itself. The Glass Castle is an idea cooked up by her father, a luxurious structure in the desert that runs on solar panels. He carries around blueprints for it, and while living in Welch, Jeannette and her brother actually dig a large hole for the foundation. However, Jeannette is struck with the reality that the Glass Castle will never come to be when her father tells her to throw their accumulating garbage into the hole meant intended for it s foundation, since he can t afford the trash collection fee. As Jeanette nears adulthood and her plans to follow her sister to New York inch closer, she tells her father, Go ahead and build the Glass Castle, but don t do it for me (Walls 238). This is a turning point for her, because she lets go of the Glass Castle, a symbol of her father s empty promises and illusions, to move away and better herself. Another huge symbol ... The terrorist group of ISIS is the biggest and most widely known terrorist group recently.
