The Bermuda Triangle covers the Straits of Florida, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean Sea. Some of the most famous disappearances in the area include Flight 19 in 1962, when five U.S. Navy planes with 24 crew members went missing. Theories for disappearances in the Bermuda Triangle include physical forces that draw objects in, unusual natural gas formations, and the lost city of Atlantis located within the triangle. While theories have been proposed, many disappearances can be reasonably explained and the Bermuda Triangle may not be uniquely hazardous.
