5. Introduction:
 World’s Oceans keep many
secrets, the first among them is
the mystery of “Bermuda
Triangle” where many ships
and airplanes have disappeared
in the visible time.
 Also known as “Devil’s
Triangle”.

6. Location:
 Undefined region in the western
part of the North Atlantic
Ocean.
 Miami, San Juan Puerto Rico,
and Bermuda are at the 3
vertices of the triangle.
 The region is undefined varying
from 500,000 to 1.5 million
square miles.
 It’s coordinates are 25.00° N,
71.00° W.

7. Historical Background:
 Some people trace the Bermuda Triangle history back to the
time of Christopher Columbus in 1942.
 He for the 1st time saw strange lights on the surface of the
ocean, flames in the sky and irregular readings of compass in
that area.
 Estimates range from about 200 to about 1,000 incidents of
ships and airplanes disappearing in the past 500 years.
 Over 8,000 people have disappeared in the Triangle.
 People have had instruments such as a compass stop working
while in the Triangle.
 It was in 1952, when the author George Sand first mentioned
about the Bermuda triangle in a magazine called Fate.
 In early 1960's, it acquired the name The Deadly Triangle.

8. Major Incidents:
1. The U.S.S. Cyclops, 1918:
 The Cyclops was scheduled to sail to
Brazil to refuel British ships in the
south Atlantic.
 When she reached at Barbados, after
that stop she never seen again.
 All 306 passengers and crew were
gone without a trace.

9. 2. Flight 19, 1945:
 The most famous Bermuda Triangle
story is the mystery surrounding
five missing Navy Avengers in 1945.
 It was a routine patrol set out with
five highly experienced student
pilots.
 Suddenly, near the triangle region
the compasses stopped working
and all controls got jammed.
 After that the planes and the pilots
were never seen again.

10. 3. The Marie Celeste:
 On December 5th, 1872, a ship was found
abandoned near Puerto Rico.
 They had thought that the crew had just left in a
hurry.
 The crew on the Marie Celeste were never heard
from or seen ever again.

11. 4. DC-3 Flight NC-16002, 1948:
 In 1948, Captain Robert
Lindquist was piloting DC-3
commercial flight from Puerto
Rico to Miami.
 Reports says when he was 50
miles away from Miami, his
flight’s systems stopped
working and his connection
broke from radio station.
 Then he was never heard
from again.

12. Theories About Bermuda Triangle:
1. GASES AND VAPORS:
 Gases and vapors having unknown to
science physical and chemical properties
break out of the cracks on the ocean
bottom to the surface of the Earth with
enormous energy.
 These properties make magnetic fields
destroying ships and airplanes. When
power of this gases and vapors is not great,
they don’t do any harm, but they cause
hallucinations and delirium on the
members of the crew. Because of that
people plunge into the water and drown.

13. 2. SPACE-TIME TRAVEL:
 In the Bermuda triangle unknown
physical phenomena results in
transferences through space and
time, because of that lost ships and
airplanes cross to the fourth
dimension, to the past or the future.
It appears as if there is time dilation.
 Stories says that there is an evil spirit
in the sea that is why the ships and
boats are disappearing.

14. 3. HYDRATES OF METHANE:
 The reason for disappearance of ships
and airplanes may be the hydrate of
methane, which is formed at the depth
of more than 300 meters at the
temperature of about 2 degrees above
zero. The conditions on the bottom of
the Bermuda triangle are just the same.
This substance is very unstable and
easily turns into gaseous state.
Powerful eruption of methane under
water causes hurricanes. Because of
that the density of the water or air
descends sharply and they can’t secure
floatation of ships.

15. 5. Spikes of Methane:
 Another variant is possible. The work of aircraft
altimeters is based on the measurement of air
density. Because of the spike of methane they
begin to show, that the airplane is rising
unexpectedly. And the pilot has to lose height
into the water.
 Even planes flying overhead could catch fire
during the blowout of methane hydrates.

16. 4. Undefined Flying Objects And Sea Monsters:
 People of the ancient times predicted that sea
monsters exist in Bermuda Triangle who are
disappearing the ships.
 It is also considered that there are certain flying object
(ALIENS and their Spaceships) which are the cause of
all of the disappearances.
 Some Scientists believe that it is a place where the
Aliens come through UFO’s to collect humans or their
technologies and take back to their planet to study.
 Some people also consider that there are super natural
forces which are responsible for all.
 A myth says that a spirit pulls the airplanes down the
sea.

17. 6. Rogue Waves:
 Solution of the secret of the Bermuda
triangle may be rogue waves. Some
time ago they were considered non-
existent, but now because of satellite
survey their existence is proved.
 Usual stormy wave reaches maximum
altitude of 15 meters. The super-wave,
whose precise origin is until unknown,
grow up in 30 meters. The vertical wall
of water and deep “pit” can be seen
before it.
 Such waves beat with the force of 100
tons, while contemporary vessels can
withstand the impact of 15 tons.

18. 7. Gulf of Mexico:
 The Gulf Stream is an ocean current that
originates in the Gulf of Mexico and moves
into the North Atlantic Ocean. In essence,
it is a river within an ocean, and like a river,
it can and does carry floating objects. A
small plane making a water landing or a
boat having engine trouble will be carried
away from its reported position by the
current.
 It has happened to a Witchcraft on
December 22, 1967, when it reported
engine trouble near the Miami about one
mile (1.6 km) from shore, but was not
there when a Coast Guard cutter arrived.

19. 8. Mighty Yellow Electronic Fog:
 There is also a prediction about a yellow
electronic fog in the sky above Bermuda
Triangle.
 Due to this electronic fog a huge magnetic
field of very large strength is produced.
 This magnetic field results in the irregular
behavior of compasses and also the flights
and ships.
 This electronic fog also cause the engines of
the ships and flights to stop working
properly.

20. 9. Weather Patterns and Topography:
 Due to unexpected storms and weather
conditions the climate around the Triangle go
undetected by satellite surveillance.
 Waterspouts that could easily destroy a
passing plane or ship are also not uncommon.
 A waterspout is simply a tornado at sea that
pulls water from the ocean surface thousands
of feet into the sky.
 Other possible environmental effects include
underwater earthquakes also.

21. 10. Pirates:
 In the 1970s and '80s, drug
runners often pirated boats
to smuggle drugs.
 This theory could also bear
some truth during wartime.
 SO there are also the
predictions that pirates are
after all these
disappearances.

22. 11. Live bombs in the ocean:
 Some may have been left from past
wars.
 Ships sail over them, causing them to
explode.
 About 11,000 years ago, a comet may
have crashed into The Bermuda
Triangle area
 Scientists believe it could have strange
electromagnetic properties that throw
off compasses and aircraft engines.

 According to Islam, the sign of destroying Earth says
that some years before the Day of Judgment, a Devil
“Dajjal” will appear on Earth and he will destroy most
of the humanity with his spiritual power. Some
Islamic scholars believe that the living place of Dajjal
is “Bermuda”. He is the only reason of disappearing
things from here.

25. Conclusion:
 The Bermuda triangle has been under learning
since 1950.
 No expert or survivor can totally be sure
about the Bermuda Triangle.
 It is impossible to describe all the hypotheses
explaining mysterious events in this research
work, which take place in Bermuda.
 But we can continue the scientific work on this
subject, because we have a lot of materials to
study and interesting describes are waiting for
us in future.
