The Belledune Municipal Budget for 2019 focuses on growth, supporting local businesses and industry, and modernizing infrastructure to stop decline. The industrial tax base provides 83% of municipal revenue, demonstrating reliance on industry.

This year’s budget process is about capitalizing on potential long
left dormant. About realizing that we have an obligation to support
businesses and industry within our community. And making it clear
that their is no alternative to growth.
There is no plan b retirement community we can become, there is
no happy medium that we can simply devolve into.
The council has made strategic decisions to modernize our
community, in order to stop the decay that inaction produces.
