I have learned a lot in my professional writing course since the midterm reflection. I have learned how to create a website and target my audience correctly, as well as how to write different types of proposals and formal reports with graphs. I have also learned how to write letters and communicate professionally. Specifically, I created a website for an insiders guide to a chili cook-off and an advertisement for that website. I also proposed a new campus safety program. This learning is significant because it prepares me for college, my future career, and life. I will use these skills in future courses and my career, whatever it may be.

2. What have you learned since the
midterm reflection?
 I have learned a lot in this course since the midterm reflection. I
have learned how to make my own website and target my audience
correctly. It seemed like I couldn’t do it at first but I pulled through it
with the help from my peer reviews and first draft grading's. I listened
to my critiques and I improved my writing skills and learned many
helpful techniques that I will use for the rest of my life.
 I created a document that I could have sent to the president of the
legislative student government here at Florida Gulf Coast University. I
learned the difference between all of the types of proposals. How to
create a formal report with graphs and when they are appropriate to
use a specific type of graph. I learned how to create letters in a
professional manner and can communicate efficiently with my peers
and coworkers about situations that need to be brought up to improve
my working environments.

4. How, specifically, did you learn it?
 Specifically I have created a website for an insiders guide to going to
the chili cook-off. I also created a type of advertisement for the
website I created in a newsletter. I used examples from the textbook
and from five examples that were emailed me through my teacher
and created an awesome newsletter.
 I also created a New Program Proposal. It was a great learning
experience to incorporate assignments into my everyday life. It was
difficult hearing about a lot of the safety issues that are on the
campus of the college I attend and I got to speak my mind by
proposing more emergency poles throughout the nature trails. It was
informative and interesting because I could relate to the work I was
doing rather then getting a boring assignment that had no relation to
myself.

5. Why does this learning matter, or
why is it significant?
 It matters to me as a student because I am getting
the education I need to get through college and
start a career eventually. As an individual it means
that I can relate my assignments to my life and be
interested in completing them.

6. In what ways will you use this learning in future
courses or in your future career; what goals will
you set in accordance with what you have learned
in order to improve yourself, the quality of your
learning, or the quality of your future experiences?
 I will use this learning in future courses because I am a college
student and I have to be professional with my writing. It will help
me with my future career because although I do not know what I
want to do my major is Environmental Education and I will use the
skills I have learned to get my future career done. It will help the
quality of my future because I will already know how to be
professional in my field of work. I have the skills necessary to
write anything I basically need to write for my future career or
just in my general future. I can pass on my knowledge with my
friends and family and help them if they ever need writing
assistance.
