The study examines the attitudes of surgical and nonsurgical residents towards work-hour restrictions, revealing that surgical residents prefer fewer limitations compared to their nonsurgical counterparts. Although there is concern among surgical residents about the impact of tighter restrictions on procedural competence, this study finds no significant differences in attitudes between the two groups. Overall, surgical residents suggested a higher work-hour limit (82 hours/week) compared to nonsurgical residents (67 hours/week).
