The document provides information about an adventure game called "In The Zone" that will take place at the Beaulieu Country Estate. Participants will use a Samsung Galaxy Tab and GPS app to complete tasks at hotspots around the estate in order to earn points. The tasks will include photo/video challenges, questions, and activities. Teams must return to the Bird Park by 2:30pm when the game will be locked. The top tips are to complete tasks as they are accessed to earn maximum points and to ensure the tablet has a clear view of the sky when using the GPS app outdoors.

5. Your Guide…
Samsung Galaxy Tab
• You will be provided with a Team Pack & Samsung Galaxy Tab
• Earn points by utilising a unique GPS Treasure Hunt ‘App’
• Unlock Tasks to release questions/challenges and answer them to
earn points!

• Access hotspots to unlock
Task Groups:
– Photo/Video Challenges

– General Knowledge
– SA History Questions
– Timed Questions
• When Task Groups have been unlocked
they will appear in the Task Manager
on the right hand side of the screen.
Tap them to open!

8. Unlocking Task Groups:
• Head to hotspot to unlock Task
Groups to access questions
• Unlocked Tasks appear in the
Task Manager – tap the task on
the RHS to open it
• Follow on screen instructions to
complete the challenge
• Task Groups contain multiple
tasks/challenges
• Tasks and hotspots will
disappear once all tasks in the
group are completed

DO NOT exit the game
using this button.
If you do you will not be
able to re-enter the game!

between the scoreboard and Tasks Manager

10. Completing Tasks:
• Once a task is unlocked, tap it to activate the question - follow the on screen
instructions to complete.
• You may need to ‘scroll’ down on some questions.
• Completed tasks and hotspots will disappear once fully completed.

11. Rules:
• Complete the hotspots in any order.
• Do as many as you can.....
• Make sure you are back at the Bird Park by 14h30. The Games
Master will remote lock your game at 14h30 on the dot.
• Remember Penalties will apply if you haven’t already returned
your team pack and tablet when this happens.
• Have fun!

12. Top Tips:
• Complete the questions as you access them to ensure you gain maximum
points – don’t leave things until the end!
• App uses GPS technology so make sure you have good access to the sky if
you are outside.
• If the App crashes at any time it is automatically programed to
re-start and take you back into the game – scores will be saved.
If it doesn’t tap the icon on the Desktop.
Do not ‘Exit’ the game using the ‘Exit’ button!

13. Safety:
• This is a low risk event. However:
– Please take care of traffic hazards especially if you are holding the
Tab
• We have a basic knowledge of First Aid so for any minor
injuries, please call us on the numbers in your pack.
• For serious injuries, dial 10111 first to report the problem and
then call us.

15. Starting the Game:
• Smile please. First take a Team Photo (by tapping the screen), add a
Team Name and then tap the JOIN GAME button.
• Once your team has been registered you are off.
