• Audi started a new subsidiary based in Munich focused on Autonomous
Intelligent Driving with the aim to be the ‘center of excellence’ for urban
autonomous driving in the Volkswagen Group. The technology will be used in
models and brands across the group including VW, Audi and Porsche.
Digital Motorway Test Bed
• The federal German Government established a digital test field “Autobahn” on
the A9 in Bavaria, where many manufacturers are going to test their
technology.
• This is the first intelligent and fully digitalized road in the world. It will now be
followed by several city-centre test beds throughout Germany.
