2. Objective
• To bring awareness of our chosen charity in a
humorous way.
• Encourage people to donate.
• Encourage people to get involved in raising
money for the charity.
• Make people laugh.
3. Target Audience
• Animal lovers.
• People of all ages.
• People that get too uncomfortable with the
hard hitting charity ads.
5. Treatment
A group of friends decide to run the Bath Half in
aid of Bath Cats and Dogs home, they turn up on
the day of the marathon in proper running gear,
apart from one, who turns up in a thick animal
onsie. He has misunderstood a joke made by the
others the previous week about dressing up for
the run. There is no time to change so he is
forced to run the marathon in this thick onsie.
They start running and it is clear this is going to be
difficult for the man. Cut to the end of the day. It’s
dark and empty, someone may be sweeping up the
cups and flyers that have been left on the floor at
the finish line. In the distance our runner in the
distance slowly and tiredly jogs up towards the end.
The cleaner watches him with disinterest as he
finally finishes with music resembeling the famous
Chariots of Fire track playing in the background. He
makes it to the end and throws his hands up in the
air and calapses to his knees. The music stops and
we see a long shot of him by himself in silence. The
cleaner continues to sweep.
6. Production method
• Shoot on location, single camera.
• Shoot in the morning/early afternoon for the
first half, then shoot in the evening to get the
last shot in the dark.
• Equipment needed… Camera, shot gun mic,
boom pole, tripod, reflectors, dedo lights,
extension leads.
7. Do-ability
• Unless we get everything together very quickly,
we won’t be able to film at the actual Bath Half.
• Even if we could there might be issues with
permissions and release forms for people in the
back ground.
• Will have to stage our own marathon or ‘fun run’
which shouldn’t be too bad, will just need to find
a load of extras.
• Weather has been very temperamental as of late.
