1. Base Mapping of the District of
St. Mary's

2. Introduction
The purpose of this project was to create asset and base maps for the
District of St. Mary’s. Various products have been created based on open
sourced data of the area and presented in ArcGIS formats. Open sourced
data was analyzed to procure district assets, and detailed layers.

12. File Geodatabase
 Any files that weren’t directly saved to the geodatabase when they
were clipped were exported to the geodatabase
• Multiple geodatabases were created and then all the data was
merged into one final geodatabase

13. Filtering Data
 A lot of unnecessary data was downloaded as it came in packages
from the websites
 To determine what was necessary for this project, it was required
that we filter through all downloaded data
 The data that was not required for the municipality was not added
to the final geodatabase

14. Georeferencing & Digitizing
 Paper maps were provided by Alan which were scanned into the
computer
 Through the use of ArcMap these images were georeferenced using
downloaded data
 The required features from these images were then digitized.

 Downside is it isn’t always accurate
 Different collection methods allow there to be inaccuracies
