Epidemiological survey on effect of emf emitted by photocopy machines general...
Abstract Significant concerns has been raised about possible health effects from exposure to radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic fields specially after the rapid introduction of modern amnesties specially the mobile telecommunication systems. The biological effects of low level EMF and a possible potential relation various diseases specially blood cancer causation are controversial. There are many epidemiological studies of the possible adverse health effects associated with environmental exposure to extremely low frequency (0-300 Hz) non-ionizing radiation such as that emitted by power cables and electrical substations linking such exposure to leukemia, brain cancer, male breast cancer, skin cancer and eye melanoma. Far less attention has been paid to health hazards from environmental exposure to radiation in RF range (100 kHz-300GHz) at field strengths much below to these required to produce thermal effects. Laboratory studies in this area have also been confusing and conflicting. While some animal studies suggest that RF fields accelerate the development of cancers, other studies found no carcinogenic effect. Obviously, there is an urgent need for extensive, well conducted epidemiological and laboratory studies. Photocopy machines are being used all over the world as it has made the life easy for academic, office, business. Hundreds of photocopy machines are also being used in Bangladesh. EMF is also emitted by photocopy machines. There has been no such study performed in Bangladesh. The data were collected from various places in Dhaka city, Bangladesh: Banani Super Market, Mohakhali, Farmgate Green Road, Nilkhet and Uttara. Both Electric and Magnetic fields were measured for photocopy machines. Both epidemiological survey and EMF measurements were done for these locations. These results showed that in many cases the magnetic field radiated from the different sources are greater than the threshold limit and photocopier operators suffered from various types of ailments like indigestion, vomit, insomnia, pain in hands and legs, stomach ache, mental depression, skin disease, cataract, sexual problems, hairs turning white etc. due to prolonged exposure to EMF. In many of the photocopier shops the operators were working in congested space with lots of machineries around. There are many devices and power lines around them, having a congested environment and low circulation of air. Also smoking contributed to their overall health problems. It describes model configuration, comparisons of model results to observational data from BC Ferries and ocean monitoring stations, sensitivity experiments testing different river bathymetry representations and vertical mixing parameters, and hindcast simulations evaluating model skill. Extending and deepening the river channel in the model was found to better represent offshore plume movement and surface currents compared to observations. Vertical mixing parameters and missing jetty structures were also identified as important for further improving model accuracy.

It describes 4 model runs: run 1 with only the river, run 2 adding tides, run 3 adding winds, and run 4 adding both tides and winds. The results show that winds have a greater impact on vertical mixing south of the river mouth compared to tides, and that near-field mixing extends about 12 km from the river mouth. Future work will investigate mixing under different river flow conditions and quantify the transport of water and freshwater by each forcing factor.

- 1. There is a mid two shot of Barry and his sister as he looks in the mirror. A boy enters the bathroom and hurriedly walks past them.
- 2. The camera zooms out to a two shot as the boy walks into a cubicle. Barry watches him and then goes back to looking at his reflection.
- 3. There is a mid to low shot of the boy in the cubicle as he drops his drugs. This shot lasts two seconds.
- 4. This shot lasts two seconds. Barry hears the drugs drop and turns to the direction of the cubicles which are out of shot.
- 5. The boy tries to grab the drugs and the camera pans down to reveal Barry’s shoe as he steps on them. It is then a low angle shot. It lasts three seconds.
- 6. The next part of the clip is over the shoulder shot of Barry as he torments the student. The shot switch between the close ups of the other student as they speak. The shot finishes are the camera pans up with Barry as he stands.
- 7. The shot pans to the left and there is a group shot as a teacher enters the toilets. Barry follows the other student out of the toilet menacingly.
