This document provides an overview of Baptist history organized into three parts: Part one discusses Baptists in Scotland, Ireland and Wales. Part two covers Baptists in continental Europe. Part three examines Eastern Europe. The introduction notes that the two most prominent early American Baptists, Roger Williams and John Clarke, were not Baptists when they arrived in the colonies. It also outlines the scattered nature of Baptists in the colonies prior to the Great Awakening.
