Certain chemicals have been banned for use in Indian aquaculture by the Coastal Aquaculture Authority, including amphinicol, chloramphinicol, nitrofuran drugs, and stilbenes. Approved drugs include amphinicol, florfenicol, ivermectin, emamectin benzoate, teflubenzuron, sulfonamides, ormetoprim, sulfadiazine, and oxytetracyclin. Some drugs are neither banned nor approved, such as amphinicol, thiamphinicol, ivermectin, fluoroquinolones, erythromycin, and pyrethroids.
