1. Unit 1: Craft village
UYEN :Hello everyone, welcome back to our show .I’m Uyen, a reporter
reside at Hue. And now I am going to visit Tay Ho village which is
considered as one of the most famous place of Hue attracts lots of
tourists from different cities in Vietnam and from throughout the whole
world. Tay Ho village is known as the birthplace of the conical hat in Hue
which is on the bank of the Nhu Y river,12 km from Hue city.Now let’s
have a conversation with residents here.Hello,as I know Bai tho conical
hat is famous for its speacial making . Can you tell me about that?
Y:Yes,it’s my pleasure. Conical hat often has 2 parts: conical cone and
string.It looks quite simple but we have to follow 15 stages.The structure
of the hat is formed by a cone which made from bamboo hoops.
Vinh:Next, we need latan palm tree leaves, which are dried carefully.The
special is that we add some poems and painting of hue between two
thin layers.
UYEN:And so can I know more about benefit of conical?
TUNG: Of course, The Non La is used as protection from the sun and
rain,. You may even come across young couples shielding their kisses
form the public behind this traditional hat during their dates.
Y:It also makes for a great souvenir to take home, to show the rest of
the world that this traditional symbol of Vietnam remains without age,
sex, or racial distinctions.
UYEN:And for you, what are the challenges you need to face up with
when working for Tay Ho village?
VINH: Yes , the current difficulty of the job is that the material resources
are increasingly scare due to deforestion and unsustainable exploitation
of conical leaves.
Tung:Therefore,the price of cone materials is also increasing which is
more and more difficulty for hat workers.
Y; I think that craft village have to bring out effective ways to change the
materials which have suitable cost and harmless to environment.
TUNG: that’s right, and I think workers should know how to combine the
traditional and the technology,mordern to attract more teenagers
VINH: Besides that, we need to do more programs like this to instroduce
the unique and strengths of Tay Ho craft village to dosmestic and
foreign tourists
UYEN: So thanks for spending time telling us about your village and we

2. Unit 5:Wonder of VietNam
Vinh and tùng: Good morning,how are you?
Uyên ý : Hi,we’re all fine !
Vinh: – We have some time off for next week.We are going to travel
somewhere but we don’t have any good ideas. Could you recommend me
some beautiful places in Viet Nam?
Ý : – Of course. How long is your vacation?
Tùng: – Just 5 days.
Uyên : – So, What do you think of Vinh ?
Vinh: – Ha Long Bay? I’ve never been there. What’s special thing in Ha Long
Bay?
Uyên : . Oh,that’s right.As far as I knowed Ha Long Bay was declared a
UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 which is an amazing tourist attraction in
the northeast region of Vietnam which is located in Quang Ninh province.
Tung:So I think with its rich history and picturesque setting, Ha Long Bay is the
perfect destination for any tourist.
Vinh: Can you tell me a little bit about the scenery of HA LONG BAY?
Ý : Viewed from any angle, Ha Long Bay looks like a work of art. It has 1,969
islands concentrated in two main zones: the southeast that belongs to Bai Tu
Long Bay, and the southwest which belongs to Ha Long Bay.
Uyen: In addtion to that,At the centre of the islands, there are wonderful
caverns, such as Thien Cung, Dau Go, Sung Sot, and Tam Cung.
Vinh: How interesting is it!
Tùng : So do what are activities we should do here?
Y: Travelling Ha Long Bay, going sailing,moving by aerial tramway or
exploiring many of beautiful and huge caves are very necessary
Tùng: these activities are thought that they will help enjoy the peace and fresh
air there; it’s really relaxing,we will try.
Vinh: How about foods?
Uyen: Oh, seafood and streetfood of Ha Long Bay are fresh, affordable and
tasty.
Vinh : So how do the people live here? Is everyone friendly and happy?
Ý : In terms of human, the local people are very friendly and helpful. They are
willing to talk to tourists or show the direction for tourists if being asked
Uyên: On Saturday night, everyone enjoyed the fun together in the islands. It’s
wonderful.
Vinh: Thank you for your introduction. We would appreciate it and thanks to the
two of us being able to better understand the outside world

3. When they were the same age as grandchildren, we used to play the host of physical games such as: Hide
and seek,fly kite,play football or blindfolded to catch goats.We used nature as our playground.We also
spend a lot of time to play together,play and talking face to face.These games help us relax,stay healthy
and in shape.We never need to care about diet.because we are very poor so we mostly ate at home
Only wealthy family had TV so we always wait for a mobile movie team came once every two months.We
were early,try to get a place near the screen.Or we used to made a play which is imaged by us and act
together like movies,in addition to that we used shell cans to make a mobile phone.Woman,….
