This document discusses Bahmni, an open source hospital management system. It describes implementations of Bahmni at JSS Hospital in Bilaspur which serves 800,000 people from 2500 villages with 70 beds and 150-200 healthcare workers. The origin and challenges of Bahmni are discussed. The first deployment at JSS Hospital in June 2013 and the story of issues with a slow machine are described. Additional implementations at SEARCH in Gadchiroli which serves 25,000 patients per year are also summarized along with learnings from deployments.
