1. Bad Habits:
No doubt,everybodyhashis/herownhabits.Some habitswe have are goodandsome are bad. We are
proudof goodpointsbutashamedof the opposite.Honestly,it’seasytokeepgoodhabitsbuthard to
getrid of bad ones.Sadly,some peopleevendon’trecognize theirbadhabits.Inthisworld,nobodyis
perfect,butat leastwe shouldsee whatgoodhabitswe have aswell asthe bad.In my case,I’mpleased
withmygood habitslike goingtobedandgettingupregularly,keepingeveryclean,washinghandsafter
gettingbackfrom the outside,andsoon.And to those badhabits,I know clearlyandam tryingto getrid
of themlike beinglazytodoexercise,eatingfoodatmidnight,etc.However,amongthose habits,the
bestone iskeepingreading everydayandthe worst one islack of exercise.
I like readingandeverydayIwouldkeepreadingformore thanone hour.WhenI was young,mymom
toldme that bookis like the seaof knowledge.Frombookswe canalmostgeteverythingwe wantto
know.To me,bookisjust like amagic thinginwhere Ican get know aboutthisworldmore.Withbooks,
my life iswonderful.Iwouldspendatleastone houron readingorbrowsingonline everyday.Mythis
habitmakesme happy.AndthroughreadingI can refreshmyself andgetmore andmore knowledge

The worst habit,alsomakesme inpain, isseldomdoingexercise.Iamnot a sportgirl and honestlydoing
exercise isasuffering.Icangetany excuse toavoiddoingit.I wouldratherstayat home the whole day
than doexercise onlyforhalf anhour.Because of lack of doingexercise,mybodyisintrouble now.
Everynight,I can’t fall asleepeasily.SometimesIwenttobedat 11:00pm butafter 3 hours I wasstill
awaked.Since I’ve knowthatmythishabithas threatenedmyhealth,Iforce myself togetridof thisbad
habit.So whenIam free now,I wouldworkoutinsteadof stayingathome and I feel muchbetterthan
before already.

There are manykindsof music,such as popmusic,R&B, countrymusic,rock musicand soon. Among
those kindsof music,pianomusicismy favorite.Some peoplemightbe notfamiliartopianomusic,they
preferotherkindsof musicmore.Butto me,pianomusicis the bestone amongthose ones.I like itfor

anothercityfor herbusinessandeverytime wasasufferedexperience.Iusedtocry badlybefore her

all.However,she istotallyopposite fromwhoshe wasbefore.Now,she wouldlike tostayat home and

The last memberof myfamilyisveryspecial,he can’tspeakbutcan communicate withme verywell.He
has a verycute name Bean.Beanisa white puppywithlonghairandbig eyes.He isalso veryclever.
Understandthe training,he can domany special thingslike rollingoveronthe floor,beggingwithfront
claws,etc.He can tell me abouthishappinessandsadnesswithhiseyes.WhenIwasunhappyIwould

Talking about Online Shopping
With the development of modern technology, Internet offers people more and more convenience.
With the help of the Internet, people can do a lot of things without going out, like paying bills,
watching movies, study online and so on. Among those, the most attractive one for people is
doing shopping online. Online shopping does have many advantages but everything has two
sides, some people think that it also has many disadvantages.
Online shopping attracts people because it has many advantages. Nowadays, more and more
people, especially for the office worker, don’t have that much free time to go shopping they’re
busy working, studying and doing other important things. So online shopping becomes the most
convenient and best way for the office worker. Many people choose shopping online also
because they can’t stand that crowded and noisy environment. For shopping online, they just
need to choose the article they want and pay online, and then shopping is finished. To most
people, shopping is not a hard and anguished job anymore, they can just stay at home, click the
mouse, spend several minutes to get what they want without stepping out of the room or standing
in line for checking.
Well doing shopping online is not always a perfect thing, it also has disadvantages. It seems easy
and quick, but there’s always a trap online. If you are careless, it will bring you some troubles.
For example, if you order a cloth online, at the moment you get the item, you may find that the
color is different from what you saw online, or the size is either too small or too big because it is
not available to try on before ordering, or the material of the cloth is not what you want. There
are also many swindlers waiting for you to bargain with. You would pay for the article but
couldn’t get anything ultimately.
So online shopping is offering convenience as well as disadvantages. On one hand, we enjoy
shopping without going out. On the other hand, we need to be very careful when choosing and
trading online.
My Favorite Season - winter
My favorite season is winter. And snow indicates the coming of winter. I always wonder how
magic and delicate the shape of snow is. It seems like being carved by artist. No doubt, snow is
the most wonderful creation of the nature. I have had special feeling toward snow since I was a
little girl. I like watching snow falling down from the sky especially at nights with the light of
moon that it is great. Some people dislike winter because they think that there is no fun in winter,
everything is covered by snow and the weather is cold. But to me, there are a lot of beautiful
memories about winter. When I was young, I used to hung out with neighborhood kidds after
school even the weather was severe. Actuaally we were looking for the heavy snow at the very

4. beginning of winter. Because we were fond of having snowball fight and making snowman as
well as going sledding. We were so happy when playing in the snow. We didn’t care how cold
our hand were, how dirty our cloths were. The only things we cared about were who could win in
the fight, who could make the best snowman and who could sled the fastest. However, we had to
stand the complaint from parents. Another reason for me to like winter is Spring Festival. It is
the most important festival in China. On those days, everyone would go back home to be with
family and celebrate. It is also the most traditional holliday to Chinese, so everyone would take a
break on these days no matter how busy he/she is. To me, the happiest things is that I can eat hot
pot with my family. In my family, eatting hot pot on New Year’s even is the custom so on this
day every member of my family would sit around the table to share the hot pot together as well
as chatting. It’s really an enjoyable thing to eat hot pot in cold winter especially with the family.
I keep those memories as my fortune and I wish everybody could like winter as I do.
Childhood
In my opinion, childhood is the best period for everybody. Most people must have a lot of
beautiful memories about their childhood. As a child, you don’t have any stress come from work
or society. As many people say, childhood is the happiest and easiest time in one’s life. I always
dream about returning to the past, experiencing the happiness only children own. Children show
their true emotions. They are innocent and naïve. Sometimes, you can get truth from children
only. They dare to say anything any truth they know, in another word, they’re braver than adults
at this point. They know what compassion is and what honesty is better than adults. Every child
is a great dreamer. In their world, everything is possible and all real thoughts are presented. As
we all had great ambitions when we were children even some of them were unpractical. Children
never know what animosity is so they have much easier lives and much less stress than adults. In
their world, everyone is equal. They make friends without thinking about how rich they are, how
high their social class are. They never think about making social communication net. The words
children talk with their friends are sincere and from the bottom of hearts. Therefore, the
friendship you get in the childhood would be the most sincere and longest. It’s easy to make
friends but not easy to get one who can always be sincere and honest to you. I wish everybody
could keep those valuable things they ever had in their childhood. Then, this world would be
more harmonious and easier. But it’s just a dream of me and would never come true. But it’s a
good thing to have dreams as children do.
The Greatest Journey
When I see this title, the first thought jumped into my head is my first journey to Europe this
summer. To me, it is one of the most beautiful memories which I will not forget ever and never. I
had thought about traveling to Europe for long before but I didn’t have any chance. But since I
have studied in America, I get much more free time than I was in China. So I asked myself, since
I have four months long vacation in summer, then why not making my dream come true. Then I
made my plan for summer which was going to Europe for two months. Thereby, I decided to

5. travel to several countries in Europe which are Italia, France, Belgium and Holland. I had a lot of
great memory and interesting stories in those countries.
I go to Venice firstly for about two weeks and the most impressed thing is boats. As everyone
knows, Venice is famous for water and it is called “ the city on water. ” Even I knew it before
but I was still shocked when I got there. Because you can see water everywhere. Thereby, the
vehicle there is boat. There are two types of boats, one is water bus which look like public bus on
land. This type of boats are very common so you can see them everywhere and the ticket for one
person is not that expensive, it’s around 20 euro for three days. The other is tourist boat which
typically for tourists but the ticket for it is very expensive. Durning daytime, it coasts around 100
euro for one person. Even it’s expensive I still took it because it would be a special experience
which I might not have anymore.
My second destination is Paris and its architecture impressed me a lot. Paris is known as the most
romantic city in this world, but its architecture is also famous. The building there is very typical
and unique. You can feel the ancient culture of Paris everywhere becaause of its building. When
I was walking on the street, I always could see various statues standing on the top or enchasing
in the interior surface of the walls.
In Belgium, drinking has become the culture of people there . No doubt, one of the most famous
things of Belgium is its beer and alcohol. Even I don't like alcohol I tasted a lot because it’s the
symbol of Belgium. Walking on the stree, you can see bars everywhere which for people to drink
something as well as chatting with friends. I think, drinking is an enjoyable and relaxing thing
for people there.
The last place I traveled is Holland which looks more like a garden full of flowers. Actually,
Holland is my favourite country because everyone knows that flowers are everywhere. So when I
got there, I proved it by myself. Many different kinds of flowers are blooming on the sides of the
streets, hanging beside the tops of road lights. At there, every family grows flowers and shows
out on the platforms.
I did have the greatest journey in my life this summer and I saw a large number of things for real
which I only saw on TV before. To me, it is a very beautiful memory and I will keep it forever.

healthcostsof smokers.Thisisa veryunfairsituation.
Anotherreasonforbanningsmokingisthatcigarette smoke affectsthe healthof non-smokersand
unbornbabies.Non-smokerssoftensufferfromeye andnose irritations,allergiesandheadachesasa
resultof inhalingsecond-handsmoke.There isalsoevidencetosuggestthatpassive smokingmaycause
lungcancer. Smokingduringpregnancycanhindertogrowthof the foetusandmayevenresultindeath.
Finally,the nicotine whichisfoundincigarettesishighlyaddictive.Otheraddictive substancessuchas
cocaine and heroinare illegal.The factthat tobacco remainslegal isananomaly.

lungcancer, heartdisease,andemphysema.Smokersdon’tthinkthatwhentheyare smokingtheyare
endangeringthe livesof people aroundthemwhohave chosennottosmoke.Thisisveryselfishof
them.Justbecause theydon’tcare about theirhealthdoesnotmeanothersdonot.
Cigarettesare the numberone cause of cancer relateddeathsinthe UnitedStates(Factsaboutcigarette
smoking).Lungcanceristhe deadliestformof cancercausingtumorsto grow inthe lungs.Lungcancer is
causedby the tar in tobacco smoke.There are manyeffectsof lungcancer.Some of the worse ones
being:shortnessof breath,coughingupblood,tiredness,andchestpains(HelenPolaski).
Smokingcigarettescanalsocause heartdisease.Smokersare ata much greaterriskof developinga
heartrelateddisease thannon-smokers.The mostcommonlyknownheartdisease fromsmokingisto
have a heart attack. Smokingcausesbloodvesselstobecome blocked,andwithoutproperbloodflow
the heart will stopfunctioningresultinginaheart attack (Heartattack).Smokingmayevencause a
stroke whichisa lesssevere heartattack,butstill dangerous.The effectsof aheart attack are
permanent,makingthe heartweakerthanbefore.
