Salvation is only in the Lord
The Exodus from EgyptThe power of God was shown at the beginning (Exodus 13:21).Pharaoh seeks revenge (Exodus 14:1-10).The nation of Israel turns to Moses for answers (Exodus 14:11-12).
Exodus 14.13“And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today.”
The Salvation of IsraelNotice who was fighting for the Israelites. (Exodus 14.14)Notice the power of God was still show to the Israelites despite their thoughts of turning. (Exodus 14.19)
The Parted Sea“Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.”(Exodus 14.21)
Who Saved Israel?“Thus the Lordsaved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.”(Exodus 14.30)
Today is the Day of Salvation“In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.(2 Corinthians 6.1-2)
We are Saved by God’s Power“Salvation belongs to the Lord” (Psalms 3:8).“Our God is the God of salvation” (Psalms 68:20).“I will joy in the God of my salvation” (Habakkuk 3:18).
Your Salvation is Found in God’s Son“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”(Acts 4.12)

Where is Your Salvation?May your salvation only be found in God’s Son:“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”(Acts 4.12)
“For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.”
Faith, Rocks and Fire1 Kings 18
CommitmentWhat is commitment?
Is commitment simple or difficult?A Little HistoryBaal was a male god of the Canaanites and the Phoenicians.
During the time of the judges, altars were built to Baal (Judges 2:13; 6:28-32).
The worship of Baal contained human sacrifice (Jeremiah 19:5).
A Little HistoryElijah had asked God that rain cease from falling on the Earth (1 Kings 17:1-7).
1 Kings 18:1 states that “the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year…”
The “third year” seems to represent the period of the drought (Luke 4:25; James 5:17).A Little HistoryThe challenge took place on Mount Carmel (1 Kings 18:20).
Mt. Carmel was on the border of Israel and Phoenician territory (remember who chose the site). (see 1 Kings 18:19)Elijah’s Powerful Question“How long will you go limping between two different opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.”
Where is Your Commitment? Are you committed to the false teachings of the day?
Are you joining yourself with the gods of no power?
Is your life spent building your altar to worship?Where is Your Commitment? Are you committed to God no matter come what may?
