2. Learning Objectives
At the end of this module, you should be able to:
Understand the Component including important field and
its use.
Understand the Component and other related modules
that are link to it.
Distinguish the differences between Main Component and
Sub Component.
Identify Component tabs and the information each tab
represents.
3. What is Component?
COMPONENT
Counter Details
and History

Component refers to list of equipment and structure available in the CMMS
(BASSnet 2.8). The following illustrates the relationships between Component and
other modules.
Sub Components Job History
Scheduled Jobs
Forms, Images and
Documents
Spare Parts
Job Orders
4. Sample of Component Structure
• Components parent and child relationship are arranged based on the
technical specification as well as the component coding and numbering.
Components tagging system refer to standard engineering document :
• System & Sub-System list
• Facilities tag numbering
• Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID)

5. Component ID Tagging
• Component identifier is a unique code composed of 2 digit system number obtain
from document “21009-BAB-04101-CM-PR-0002 – Apache Balnaves Project and
Engineering System Numbering List” and alpha numeric code from the Engineer
Document. For multiple components with same type, it can be identified from last
letter in the code like “A”, “B” or “C”.
7. Main Component
Hierarchical structure of system and components
in the FPSO
It is also a representation of Component ID based
on engineering documents
• Aside from the component fields, the tabs represent other module related
to particular component as shown in the red box.
8. Sub Component
• Sub Components are the assembly parts of the main component
• It has its own life cycle and maintenance program
9. Component Tabs
Each tab in the Main Component and Sub Component
screens provides link to the other related modules in
BASSnet™.
Thru each tab you have the capability to view, navigate
and open related window link to the Main Component and
Sub Component without going to respective modules.

12. Learning Objectives
At the end of this lesson, you should be able to:
Identify the elements in the Component screen.
Different registers in Component and its use.
Different ways to search for a Component.
14. Component Screen Icons & Buttons
• Standard Operations icons consist of “New, Save, Cancel & Delete” icons.
Normally this is only available to System Administrator and System
Coordinator and used for addition, update and deletion of records in this
module.
• Click to launch the search feature where you can carry out a search for a
record.

ICONS & BUTTONS FUNCTIONS
Standard Operations icons consist of “New, Save, Cancel &
Delete” icons. This is only available depending on the access
privilege.
Click to launch the search feature to carry out a search for a
record.
This icon allows you to search using specific or combinations
of criteria available.
This icon is another type of filter that allows you to search
using criteria which is not available to query
This icon is used to customize the view and arrangement of
Component Structure. You can also remove column field form the
Component Structure.
15. ICONS & BUTTONS FUNCTIONS
This icon is used to change the view of the Component Structure
either Hierarchical or row form.
This button is used to navigate pages.
This is a lookup button used to open lookup screen where you can
make a selection from the list of available items.
This is a drop down button to open a lookup screen where you can
make a selection from the list of available items.

Registers Link To Component
Maker – register for component manufacturer.
Model – register for component model.
Account – register for component account (not in use).
Class Reference – register for component class where the
component belongs to.
Criticality – register for component level of criticality.
Location – register for component physical location.
Condition – register for component condition.
Hazardous –
Certificate -
17. 17
Component Screen Tabs - Details
The Details tab of a Main Component
record stores the manufacturing information
and installation details of the main
component. All registers related to
component can be found here.
18. 18
Component Screen Tab – Sub Comp.
Sub components are the assembly parts of the main component. In this
tab, you will be able to view the sub components that are attached to the
specific main component.
You can connect sub components to the selected Main Component. If the
particular sub component is not available, you may directly create in from
this tab as well.
Note: You must first connect a Counter to the Main Component before
connecting Sub Components to it.
19. 19
Component Screen Tab – Counters
The Counters tab stores the counter or running hours for the
component. This tab enables you to connect the specific main
component to its counter in the database.
However, if the main component is connected to a sub component,
the counter details relevant to the main component can be viewed
from the sub component record as well.
20. 20
Component Screen Tab – History
This tab stores the complete history of all jobs carried out
on this component. You can double click a job to view the
Job History screen of the particular job.
21. 21
Component Screen Tab – Materials
The Materials tab stores the spare parts, consumable items
and so on that are connected to main component. You can
create a new material and connect it here or connect an
existing material.
22. 22
Component Screen Tab – Documents
The Documents tab stores all documents related to the main
component. You can connect a file directly from the
Document Manager (click Connect) or connect a file from
your computer (click Browse).
23. Demonstration
Different ways to search for Component
1) Using the “Find” and available field to search for component.
2) Using “Query” and specific register to search for component.
3) Using “Advance Filter” and available field to search for component.
