This document provides an outline for an English language learning session that teaches students how to introduce themselves and ask basic questions about others. The session includes warm-up activities where students practice asking and answering questions about name, job, hometown, and teacher using a word bank. Students then work in pairs taking turns introducing themselves and asking follow up questions. Next, students show each other photos of friends or relatives and ask questions about the person's name, job, where they live, languages spoken and hobbies. At the end of the session, students report what they learned about their partner to the class. The overall goal is for students to learn how to ask for and share basic information about themselves and others.
The academic year is nearly over and we want to encourage our learners to reflect on success and what helps them achieve it. Our B2 First and C1 Advanced students will read about and discuss routines of successful people. Our A2 Key and B1 Preliminary learners will talk about the habits and routines that work for them while they practise all four skills. The younger ones will be able to show how much progress they have made when describing their favourite toy and telling a story. Happy teaching!
Verb noun collocations including the following verbs:
have, organize, plan, make, get, take, catch, ask, lose, pay, run, do
There is a fill in the blanks and a word match activity included in this slide show.
There are also 3 slides that have collocations that use swear words.
