This document outlines the details of a technology stream program for existing and newly recruited graduates to upgrade their qualifications as teachers. The program includes courses in educational theory, teaching methods, academic subjects like engineering and mathematics, and a teaching practice component. It is a part-time weekend program conducted over three years for a total of 120 credits. Prior learning will be recognized and credits awarded but not calculated into students' GPAs.

The Programme will be offered in the Sinhala, Tamil and English
* Selection Procedure
The Institute may select applicants recommended by the Ministry of
Education, Sri Lanka for admission to this programme,
* Attendance
* The weekend programme is conducted at the NIE and UNIVOTEC on
three weekends of each month. School vacations can also be used as
according to the need.
* There will be four three hour sessions for a week starting from 9.00
a.m. closing at 4.00 p.m.
* Eighty percent attendance in the programme is compulsory for a
candidate to apply for the final examination
